Vehicle Detail
1989 TURBO TRANS AM INDY PACE CAR IF YOU ARE LOOKING AT THIS AUCTION YOU ALREADY KNOW ABOUT THE LEGENDARY 1989 TURBO TRANS AM THE FIRST CAR TO PACE THE INDY 500 WITHOUT MODIFICATION THESE CARS WERE VERY SPECIAL WHEN BUILT AND EVEN MORE SPECIAL TODAY THIS A 3396 MILE COLLECTOR OWNED PIECE OF GM, PONTIAC, BUICK AND INDY 500 HISTORY!! This low mile Turbo Trans Am has always been collector owned and kept in climate controlled storage. My friend the owner of the car found it a few years ago and added it to his very impressive musclecar collection. The previous owner installed a few bolt on performance upgrades including a Chip, Hemco upper plenum, 65mm throttle body, 3" downpipe, chrome uppipe , chrome intake pipe and K&N air filter. Subframe connectors were also installed. The engine has never been opened or modified. Everything that was done by the previous owner can be brought back to stock. The current owner had plans on doing just that. He has lost storage for a few cars in the collection and has decided to find new homes for some very special cars. We just sold his 800 mile IROC here a few weeks ago. No other reason for the sale. He just can't store them all!! This is a very very clean TTA!! I went over the car the other day with a 700 mile TTA owner and found a little paintwork on the hood and front fenders. We could not see any reason for the work but we did see it. The paint work was done very well. It may have been done by the dealer or before delivery. The rear spolier was replaced by the previous owner with a fiberglass unit. The current owner was going to install an OEM unit when he went through the car. I have the invoice from the GM archives. I need to contact PHS to get the rest of the package. Thanks for your interest in this outstanding example of one of musclecar history's most lengendary cars. This 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am is owned by a very close friend. I have loooked the car over from end to end and know the car very well. I am here to answer any and all questions you may have concerning the T/A. Please ask any and all questions before you bid. The T/A is available for inspection in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I will be posting more photos during the auction and will make a photobucket account to load many more. Thanks once again and good luck!!!
