The interior was redone two years ago, along with the convertible top, and both are in excellent condition. It is powered by the massive 500 cubic inch (8.2L) V8 backed by an automatic transmission which was rebuilt approx 5k miles ago. This car starts right up effortless and moves down the road without issue. This exceptionally clean Eldorado has just 86k miles from new, meticulously serviced and maintained, always garaged and covered. Solid and clean inside and out, top to bottom! Proclaimed at the time to be the "last of its breeed", GM wanted to exit the convertible business in grandiose fashion, and the result is this beauty. At the time, in fact, the Eldorado was the only American-built convertible on the market, and with waning sales due to an increased popularity of hardtop models and air conditioning use, it was decided by GM's top brass that they would leave the drop top production for good. As a result 14,000 convertibles were sold that year.
