Relisting because previous high bidder backed out due to job lay off. !!! NO RESERVE AND LOW LOW BUY-IT-NOW PRICE !!! 1969 Datsun Roadster with Ford Mustang GT Driveline! I have owned this car since 2003 and it just KILLS me to sell it. Both of my sons are not speaking to me because they are so upset that it is for sale. But I have too many project cars so this one is basically finished so it is time for it to go. All kinds of blood, sweat, and $$$ went into this project. Complete details on the build can be found at www.unnfair.com. Want to see video? Type in "Datsun Roadster V8" on YouTube and the first three videos that pop up are THIS car. You can be the first and only one on your block to own something that is truly unique! This car is all sorted out. It always starts, it always runs. I have driven this car on several 1000-mile Iron Bottom Rallies and it has never let me down. Modifications/Upgrades are as follows: o Ford 302 V8 with Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold and Carburetor o Borg Warner World Class T5 5-Speed Transmission with Centerforce Clutch o Ford Mustang 8.8 posi rear end o Custom 2-row dual pass aluminum radiator by Mattson’s Radiator o Flowmaster 2-chamber Original Flow dual exhaust o Front Brakes: Toyota 4-runner 4-piston calipers on 300ZX vented rotors o Rear Brakes: Ford drums o Rack and Pinion Steering o Tubular Upper Control Arms and Rebuilt Lower Control Arms both with Chevy Ball Joints o Fuel-Safe 15 gallon fuel cell o Holley Blue Electric Fuel Pump o Panasport Wheels o Painless Wiring Loom o Miata Seats o Retractable Shoulder Belts o Optima Red Top Battery in Trunk o New Convertible Top and Boot This car has been garaged since I bought it in 2003 and there is no rust. However, this car is not a trailer queen. It is car that I have driven spiritedly and regularly for as long as I have owned it. The paint has several rock chips and scratches (see photos) but it looks alright from 20 or 30 feet away. It looks really good when it passes you by at 120 mph on the road! There is a crack in left front fender near the grill (see photo) resulting from some hood hinge fatigue. Should be an easy tack-welding fix by the body shop. The bottom scoop (fab'd by the previous owner) and part of the front valence was conveniently removed by some high road debris a few years ago. I cleanly cut it out with a Sawzall and the cut line is obscured by the front bumper. In its place, I have fabricated a very effective air dam (see photo) that sucks out the hot air in the engine bay and makes the car run nice and cool. I have never had any overheating problems with this current setup. The engine leaks some oil on the driveway but I haven't noticed it burning any oil. The guy I bought the engine and driveline from indicated that engine had been rebuilt 6 months beforehand. I have no reason to doubt him. The engine runs very strong! The car has comp springs in the front that have been cut to lower the car by about an inch. As a result, when making very sharp turns into parking spaces, the control arms will occasionally rub on the rotors depending on the slope of the pavement. But this NEVER happens when driving down the road (even when pushed to the limit on VERY curvey roads). IMPORTANT NOTES!: This car is NOT for the faint of heart. It is a BEAST! and you can lay down rubber all day long! With the Edelbrock setup, the specs are approximately 240HP and 300 ft-lb of torque. And all that is stuffed into a small package weighing less than 2300 lbs! That is a greater horsepower to weight ratio than many modern performance cars. And of course this car has no anti-lock brakes, no traction control, etc. so takes some skill to drive it at its limits. It doesn't take much of a tap on the throttle to pitch out the rear end on turns. Also keep in mind this is a SMALL car! If you are over 6' tall or have long legs, you might not fit in it. The driver's seat is bolted directly on the floor and you may need to re-mount it if your legs are longer or shorter than mine (30" inseam). Also, the pedal box has similar dimensions to that of a Ford Pantera (i.e. it is narrow). If you have wide feet, you may have trouble driving this car. The car is garaged in Tustin, CA. On Jan-14-11 at 20:08:42 PST, seller added the following information: Seller added the following information on 1/14: Some people have asked me if the current fuel cell in the car is the same one I originally installed as noted on the website. I noted on the website that the original fuel cell I installed leaked at the filler cap. The answer is NO. I replaced that cell with the current Fuel Safe cell (cost lots more $$$) and it does NOT have any leaking issues. On Jan-16-11 at 09:51:54 PST, seller added the following information: I just got another phone call and was asked if the car has a heater/defroster and the answer is NO. When I originally purchased the car with the previous 289 engine, there was a working Datsun Roadster heater in the car at that time. I removed it and sold it on eBay because I live in sunny SoCAL. Therefore, it is feasible to reinstall a heater/defroster in the car if one is so inclined... On Jan-22-11 at 14:22:11 PST, seller added the following information: I have had some calls about the size of the pedal box so I added 3 more photos today. The carpet was falling down behind the pedals so I removed it a while back. The crusty stuff under the pedals is the black tar sound proofing stuff that is peeling off. ?f`565,RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fum.rp73%28%3E%3Ff%60565-12eab20228b-->
