Vehicle Detail

Here's the deal: I have been looking for an XJS convertible for some time now and finally found one. Therefore, this one has to go. Although the car runs fine and is used daily, I AM SELLING IT AS A PARTS VEHICLE OR FOR RESTORATION ONLY. Some of the primary reasons for this are: (Now pay attention) 1. The right rear quarter-panel around the wheel well is showing some rust that will need some immediate attention that I am not prepared to have done. (See photos) There are a couple of other rust spots here and there that will also have to be dealt with at some point. However, the front fenders, doors, trunklid, plinth and hood are all rust free. 2. The left front wheel has a shimmy when braking, probably due to a bad caliper, brake shoe or rotor disk. 3. The windshield has a leak in the lower left corner due to lack of sealant. (The trim gasket seems to be OK and it only will leak in a torrential rain. Otherwise, it's fine) 4. Small oil pan leak (no surprise there) but does not burn oil. She runs clean. 5. The right side exhaust has an adapter on the center pipe due to a recent muffler replacement. The stock mufflers are no longer available and the aftermarket one has a slightly larger input pipe. 6. The front-end rubber bushings could use replacing. The paint has a few dings here and there but no dents and for the most part, looks pretty good. I purchased this nearly four years ago and have been driving it ever since. The engine is strong and smooth, as is the transmission and the differential. The drive train is really great and she shifts like silk. The A/C has not been charged for more than a year now. The compressor is good but she will probably need a new o-ring set and dryer tube. The A/C was converted to 134a four years ago. The cassette player drags and the wiper stalk with the cruise control needs to be tightened up. (Not broken, just loose) The radio plays great and the automatic antenna works. I had been considering using this car's parts for the convertible and selling the rest but I really don't need to have a half-eaten "parts car" in my yard. So in the name of family harmony, I have decided to sell it complete and not part it out. This is everything I know to be an issue. Now for what's right with the car: First, the interior is quite nice. No tears in the barley leather or headliner. No cracks in the dash and the burled wood is great. The passive seat-belt motors work as intended. The entire seat-belt system was replaced by Woburn Jaguar about two years ago... Motors and all. This complete interior would be a great transplant for another vehicle. The car is equipped with a remote starter, alarm, and key-less entry. A built-in Philips Carin GPS navigation system and remote control that works just fine is also included. The car also has the complete fiberglass ground effects package including the side skirts which are rarely seen on these cars. It also has the correct rear wing spoiler with the antenna hole on the passenger side. (Very hard to find) It also has the quad headlight system. The shocks were replaced all-around three years ago. This Jag is currently registered and is used as an everyday driver. She starts every morning and gets me to work. As you can see in the photos, she looks pretty good and she still turns heads. The car has a current Massachusetts inspection sticker. You can take it for a spin and she will give a damn good ride. She has a clear Massachusetts title. What is NOT included: (Pay even more attention here) The Dayton spoke wheels that are currently on the car are NOT included. They are going on my convertible. (No, you can not have them no matter how much you whine about it.) HOWEVER, the convertible came with a really nice set of OEM Jaguar lattice wheels that are in fantastic condition and correct for this car. These will replace the Daytons. I am including photos of these wheels as they are currently mounted on my other Jag. They include the proper OEM Jaguar lug nuts. I am starting the bidding at $1500.00 with no reserve. I figure a running Jag is worth at least that. Besides, the interior, lattice wheels (Five of them) and ground effects package with rear wing is worth that alone. If you're looking for a deal on a whole lot of parts you still can drive around in...Well this is the car for you. You will be responsible for getting the car where it needs to go at your expense. This vehicle is sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS. Please don't make your misunderstanding my responsibility...I have enough problems of my own. Thanks.
