Relisting on this car. I found out that whem it was two years old (twenty years ago) it had some kind of damage and listed as a salvage title. I went completely thru and underneath and couldnt see any places of repair. it was retitled and has had a clear title for about twenty years. It is a great car. I have had this ride for several years, driving it to my sons away football games. After he graduated it didnt leave the garage for four years. I moved it out because my pregnant wife needed the parking spot. Otherwise it hasnt seen rain or shine for a long time. It has brand new Michelin z rated tires. I put a new radiator on it when i bought it. Air worked fine when i parked it. When we pulled it out of the garage I had to put gas in the fuel body to get it started. It ran like a sewing machine, but wouldnt stay running. I checked the fuel filter and was getting gas to the fuel body. but wouldnt idle. Its a diamond in trhe rough. Needs paint and cleanup. All there except the radio. I took it out to replace and lost it. I had to replace the ignition from lost keys. and the trunk latch has been drilled. I have the new cylinder, just never installed it. The trans dripped when i pulled it out. So understand that this is one that needs some work, but will make a realy realy nice ride. It is the biggest Sedan MB made, and has all the great options that the finest of its kind would be expected to have. The winning bidder will have to arrange to pick it up. It runs fine w gas put in it manually. Just whatever is keeping the fuel from passing thru the throttle body...? gas is getting to it, i took the gas line loose and the pump sprayed it everywhere. There might be a fuel filter on the throttle body itself that I dont know about. I am being totally frank about condition and function. I priced it cheap so whoever wins it has plenty of room financially to get'er going! Its a great car, and I wouldnt sell it for nothing if my wife would shut up about it. But weve got a garage full and one has to go. 8) A little paint, a small piece here and there and you got a beautiful ride for sure. It still has the original SEL mats in it. This car has been really babied. But it is nearly an antique. Most people dont know that airbags, four wheel disks, security,and steel reinforced doors were all the result of the engineering on THIS car. It cost $74,000 new. and when i parked it three or four years ago it still drove better, rode better, and had more power than my corvette. You CANNOT go wrong on this. It would bring 750 in scrap. It is the heaviest production car EVER built and to get a bigger car in 1989 you had to go get yourself a Bentley or Rolls Royce. It is the largest MB ever made. And in my opinion a car that with a little love is still better than any car in the 30k range or below today.
