Vehicle Detail
Hello and welcome to my auction. What I have for sale here is a 72 Chevrolet El Camino. This car originally came with a 350 four barrel, 4 speed, and 12 bolt rear end. It now has a late 70’s 350 backed by a turbo 350 trans and followed by a 10 bolt rear end. I bought this car/truck with the intention of driving it every day. I did indeed drive it for a few months and now I have a new born baby and my wife wants me to have a more modern car for a daily driver. So here it is. I have worked on it extensively and replaced many items with the intention of having a rock solid driver that was fun to drive. The Body: The car overall is really solid being originally from California, which it still resides. The rust is limited to the front fenders, left rear quarter, some minor bubbling above the drivers door drip rail, two small holes in the corners of the rear window, and the floor under the bed panel. When I bought the car it was picked over and the engine was just set in the car. It really needs an engine wiring harness. It also needs seat belts since they were missing when I bought it. I put a used rear window that has new window tint on it. Both front and rear windows leak. The car drives very well and stops real well needing very little to finish it up. The windshield wipers are also inoperative, I think it just needs a switch. The Bed is in really good condition with no rust but the tailgate has a couple of small dents to repair. This car still has the four speed hump, pedals, and frame bracket for the clutch linkage. The hood also is cracked at the right hinge, which is caused by stubborn hinges which has been addressed and now opens and closes smoothly. It also has a new reproduction grill. It also has newer tires on it with 80% tread left. The drivetrain: It has a mid 70s 350 in it that has unknown miles on it. I did a rather extensive top end on the engine. I started with two brand new GM heads that have been ported. At that same time I added a new cam, lifters, timing chain, and valve springs all from Comp Cams. To top off the engine work I added a Weiand Dual Plane intake, a Holley 750 Carb, Hedman coated headers, Petronix ignition, Pro Comp fabricated sheet metal valve covers, new water pump, fuel pump, gas tank, alternator, regulator, belts, hoses, thermostat and housing, recored radiator, and Taylor spark plug wires, cap and rotor. The transmission has been serviced and shifts properly and doesn’t leak a drop. A new drive shaft from Inland Empire Driveline leads to a 10 bolt rear end with 2.64 gears. It has an older dual exhaust system with full tailpipes. I also added Autometer gauges to monitor the motor. It runs well but does use some oil. I do encourage anyone who is serious about bidding should do an inspection of the vehicle in person or a representative chosen by the bidder. It is sold where is as is, but I will make reasonable accommodations to make shipping the car go smoothly. No warranties expressed or implied. Please any and all questions as soon as possible so we can communicate effectively. 10% deposit due within 24 hours of auctions end. It is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction if it sells locally. Good luck and happy bidding.
