Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 71' cl350 that I bought as a winter project. I purchased it to turn it into a bobber. A completely different project (my jeep) has come up, and this is being sold to make room and to add money to the jeep. I do NOT know what it will take for this to run. I bought it on the condition of the bike as a whole from pictures I had seen. When I brought it home it looked to me like a good carb cleaning, fluid changes and a new battery is all it would take. I still believe that is all it will need. It kicks over with no problem. If you have any questions, please ask and I will answer to the best of my ability. The bike also comes with an original repair manual I purchased. Because it is not new it does NOT come with any guarantees what so ever. The starting price is my reserve, so high bidder gets the bike. I will NOT ship this bike. I will be more than happy to assist anyone with shipping if they choose to set it up on their own. Make sure to ask questions because what you see is what you get. I will have more 350 parts coming up for auction as I purchased enough parts to basically build two bikes, so check my other auctions. GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING!!!On Mar-07-11 at 17:58:39 PST, seller added the following information: Due to so many folks asking about the condition of the bike, I went over to my storage place and brought it back into my shop. Here are a few more details. I do have a title for it. I hooked my battery jumper to it. All the lights, horn and turn signals work. I tried to start it by using the starter and it clicks. Since I know the relay works i am going to chase those wires down and see if it is a wire issue or if it is the starter. Compression is great. The bike has air shocks in the back in place of the originals. (you can see them in the pics) Tires are easily 75% or better and are in good shape with no visible dry rot. Both the front and back brake will lock up the tire. The back is the better of the two, but i think a cable adjustment and a good cleaning of everything would be in order. I will work on the bike and will post what happens thursday night. Ebay has a policy that you cannot change the description to reflect what I find out.On Mar-11-11 at 17:31:34 PST, seller added the following information: Ok.....final update. Here we go...... Starter is good. The starter is not engaging the motor. I tried to open the cover to see what was up, but it would involve most likely stripping a screw or two and I am not going to do that. Charged battery and it somewhat held a charge. i am sure a regular running of the bike would keep the battery. There is quite a bit of cleaning that needs to be done carb and fuel system wise. I can't tell you the last time it actually ran, but I am sure it has been a while. I did a cursory cleaning of the tank, installed new fuel lines and tried to get it to start and run. After spraying with either a few times it started and ran for 2 or 3 seconds probably 5 times. I think I ended up flooding it out because it quit responding and I am too old to try and kick start a bike for 45 minutes straight. Even though the bike is on ebay and going away...this has almost become a mission to get it running. It's the way I am. I pulled the plugs and they look decent. Nothing out of the ordinary. I am going to take the bowls off of the carbs tomorrow morning and see if I can do anything with whatever I find. I will say it again that I really think it just needs a decent cleaning and adjustment. I know it does need a choke cable as whatever controlled the choke before is gone. The carbs are still connected choke wise, but there is no cable to control it. If I do get it going tomorrow it will be too late to update this as ebay will not let me update my listing 12 hours or less before the end. I apologize for that. That covers what I know about the bike. thanks for looking, and good luck bidding!!!
