Vehicle Detail
Here is my 1985 Chevy S10 Durango. It runs, it drives, it does need things done to it (it's no spring chicken). It was my dailey driver up until yesterday when i got a 4x4. The body is in excelent shape for its age with mostly only surface rust showing. The only are i have noted to be an issue is the drivers side floor pan, i placed a sheet metal patch over it and intended to cut it out and replcae with a larger sheet, but have not done so yet. I will include the larger piece with the truck if the buyer wishes to use it. The good:It runs, has never let me downbrakes very well (never inspected them yet) it stopped no reason to worrytires have a little tread left, but will need replaced soon depending on your driving habbitsall the lights and signals workwipers workhorn worksnew batteryspeedo works, is off by about 2-3 mph according to my gpsDid an oil change back in October (i don't drive much appx 300 miles since) and oil still looks brand newThe bad:it leaks oil (divers side valve cover and very little from pan gasket) Just started about a week agowater pump will need replaced, leaks coolant (about half a jug in a week) $20 bucks for a new oneheater works but only to the floor, and the blower motor is noisyis temperamental with starting (mostly when cold)can not "get on it" as it will chug / sputter, think its a fuel filter and or plugs, but can't find it on the truckwindshield will need replacedfuel gage i believe to be not accurate ( i never let it run out of fuel)interior is a bit rough, its been a work truck for me and the previous ownerA/c does not work, not hooked up and i think no compressor I think thats all the major stuff, i actually dont want to get rid of the truck, would rather keep it and try to fix it up since its almost identical to the one my dad had when i was growing up, but i don't have the extra money to do so and my wife says it has to go if im going to keep the 4x4. So, here it is, an running driving antique that could be fixed up rather easily i think. I am not a mechanic and all the above is to the best of my knowledge. I know this will make a great project / fixer upper for someone with either the knowledge or money to put into it. I will be driving it to work and back while this listing continues as there are a couple things i need to get done to my other truck. Thank you for looking and happy bidding. This truck is for sale localy as well and i reserve the right to end the auction early if it sold. ***For the heck of it i checked the passenger side floor for rust.. yup its there.. i see any holes yet, but i did not crawl underneath as the ground has been soaking wet and am currently under the weather myself. I had no reason to be concerned about it before and never had it cross my mind to check, but here again shows that i do try to tell all i know about the truck. I noticed it has a fender bender listed on the report, i do not have any more information than what is showing in the report on this as i have only had the truck since about October last year. Even with the added floor pan work, i still feel this truck is worth my starting bid as just for a running 2.8 motor locally you would look to spend around $500. and this one appears to be a very internally clean one.
