1979 Suzuki GS

I am re-listing this machine after successfully locating the title. This is a Suzuki GS1000S. In the USA I believe these were all blue and white, and referred to as Wes Cooley Replicas. I believe the red and white model was Europe only. This bike had been sitting for a number of years, and I don't believe the previous owner ever rode it. I found it sitting in a trailer, battery dead, but complete. It had a nice tail luggage rack on it, and I would guess the bike did some sport touring. After a thorough carb cleaning and a new battery, she started right up. The engine sounds good, no smoking, knocking.. The paint is original, and shows some scrapes on the fairing. The inner fairing is cracked, and the PO did a poor job fixing it with white glue. I would imagine this occurred a long time ago. I think it could be fixed with better glue, and be acceptable. Suzuki lists the new part -list price $168. I believe mirrors were oem on the fairings. They are also available from Suzuki for $42 apiece. The gas tank paint is weak, especially on the left lower. The tank has been creamed on the inside- not by me. The side panels and tail almost look new. The chrome is in great condition, the fork tubes, pipes, shocks all look great. I thought I would offer the bike the way it is and see what happens. The engine number is GS1000-140552. I haven't tried to fix it, but the clock doesn't seem to work. With some detail painting, engine cover polishing, and probably new tires, somebody could have a real collector's piece. The speedometer reads in mph and kmph is correct.
