Vehicle Detail

I bought this truck in June of 2010. I just always loved this particular body style. I spent over a year looking for this truck, but every one I found was eaten up with rust or was lifted too high for me and the owners were asking up to $10,000 for a vehicle I was going to have to sink several thousands more into. I finally found this truck and bought it. All I use it for is to load the dogs in the back and take them for short rides. My wife lost her job and I just can't justify keeping this truck to drive the dogs around the neighborhood a few times a month. I have put less than 500 miles on it since I purchased it. I had the truck sold, and the guy that purchased it couldn't come up with the money, so I am re-listing. I am not a mechanic, nor will I pretend to be. Below is the most accurate information I can provide, to the best of my ability. I will gladly answer any additional questions that interested parties may have, but I most likely won't be able to answer most of the technical stuff. This truck had quite a bit of work done to it before I purchased it. It was a completely driveable, nice-looking old chevy which is why I bought it. As for the mileage, the odometer currently reads 65,353. It is a '75, so I advertised it as 165,000 miles because I am sure it has rolled over. While we are on the subject of items on the dash, it appears that a new glareshield was installed over the dash. The gages, as you can see from the picture appear to be original. This truck has dual gas tanks, so there is a switch that allows you to view the fuel quantity in the main or the aux tanks. The guy I purchased it from told me that the main gage is innacurate, but the aux tank gage functions properly. I have not verified this, because I haven't let the tanks get that low. As far as I have been able to tell, the other gages indicate normal. The lights on the truck work. There is a push/pull actuator for the headlights. The actual knob that goes on the rod you push/pull to turn lights on/off is missing and has been since I bought the truck. This in no way affects the lights coming on or off and probably wouldnt cost but a few dollars to order. Also, the indicator that shows what gear you have selected for the automatic transmission is stuck, so it won't indicate if you are in P,R,D, etc. There are no problems selecting the gears, you just have to know what you have selected(such as the first detent is Reverse, the second is Neutral, and the 3rd is Drive). Also the knob on the gear selector is missing. The rest of the interior is for the most part re-done with a nice red/white seat that matches the exterior, new headliner, and carpet(which I would rather not have carpet in my truck). All the glass is good. The doors lock. There are a couple of minor cosmetic things that would bring the truck closer to being fully restored. The handle knob on the passenger side that rolls the window up/down is a little hard to grip(worn down a little). The window goes up and down with no issues, but once again, just a couple of bucks should get a new know if it bothered you. As for the exterior. I have had numerous individuals comment on the shape this truck is in. The body is in VERY good shape, VERY solid. Nice and straight-and as you can see very recent paint. It was done before I got it, but I love the colors. As far as I can tell, there has been no body work, but I am mainly going by what others have said to me. There is a small dent on the INSIDE of the tailgate, but it is not noticeable if the tailgate is closed and it in no way affects the ability to operate(open/close) the tailgate. The emblem that sayc C-10 needs to be installed on the driver's side. I have it in the glovebox, but haven't put it on yet. Mechanically, this truck is in good shape. The guy I bought it from did most of the work himself. He told me the engine had been recently re-built. If I remember right, it had liek 5,000 miles since the rebuild. That info is impossible to verify though. The transmission is very solid, shifts just fine. I honestly don't know much about the mechanics of vehicles. But I do know it has a 350 and an automatic transmission. I have no idea, but I think it is a 4-speed transmission and I have no idea how it is geared. The 4-wheel drive works and the entire drivetrain was thoroughly tested by the previous buyer-to his satisfaction. Tires are ok. They are aggressive mud tires and don't ride very well in my opinion, but the new owner may be fine with them. Overall, this truck is in good shape. There are some things that could be done to make it even nicer. Serious buyers should contact me with any additional questions, to make final payment arrangements, and to make arrangements for pickup/transportation. Yes, I have the title in hand. Yes you can look at/inspect the truck. It is up for sale locally and I do reserve the right to end the auction early if the truck sells. I will require a $500 non-refundable deposit immediately upon the end of the auction. Final payment should be made within 10 days of the end of the auction(if I elect to delay final payment as per the buyer's request, it must be discussed prior to the end of the auction). Thanks for looking. 334-475-5244On Feb-15-11 at 05:19:48 PST, seller added the following information: I apologize to those who tried to communicate with me yesterday.
