Vehicle Detail
!!!! THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION FOR A VERY RARE SLIDING ROOF WAGON !!!! I JUST LEARNED THAT THE TITLE SHOWED AS "SALVAGE" THIS WAS A MISTAKE ON MY PART - THE CAR HAS A CLEAN & CLEAR CA TITLE - I JUST CHANGED THE AD TO REFLECT THE "CLEAR" TITLE Has 289ci Studebaker engine, (Eng # P99825) w/2 barrel carb and auto trans that both run and shift, however, I wouldn't plan on driving it more than a few miles because of some brake pull and no exhaust past the exhaust manifolds. Here's what I've done so far: Replaced Motor Mounts and Transmission Mounts Converted the distributor to a 'pointless' ignition (pertronix.com) Replaced Rear Main Seal and Pan Gasket New Valve Cover Gaskets (adjusted valves while I was in there) Replaced Water Pump - NEW not Rebuilt Replaced Soft Plugs w/ brass plugs, and while they were out I flushed the years of crud out of the block Replaced Seering Box Resealed the Power Steering Pump and P.S. Ram Replaced 4 (all) Power Steering Hoses Rebuilt driveshaft (new u-joints) Roof, Hood, and Tailgate were taken down to bare metal, sealed with metal prep, and then shot with primer The floorpan is solid with some surface rust The seat covering is in usable condition with no tears on the seating surfaces Door panels are also in usable conditon with no tears There was some body rot at the bottom of the rear fenders and bottom of tailgate that I repaired with POR15 products (POR15.com) Removed body side molding welded up holes and covered with a scratch coat of bondo Door handles are off but go with the car I have a set of control arm bushings and snubbers that will go with the car but will not be installed The rear window (in the tailgate) is electric and more importantly, works I have tried to be as descriptive as possible here so that there are no surprises. This is a project car that I believe will be very cool when it's finished! I have additional photos that can be e-mailed upon request Thank you for looking PaulOn Feb-15-11 at 16:11:17 PST, seller added the following information: I just added a photo of the VIN Plate with a portion of the CA Title photoshoped into the picture so that any potential bidder can feel assured that the title is clean and clear.
