Vehicle Detail
Hello, my name is Aaron. Unfortunately, I am forced to sell my 1989 Pontiac 6000 LE. This vehicle is affectionately named "Lola." I own a small business which is rapidly growing. While my business is doing well enough that I just purchased a new company vehicle, I do not have the additional income to afford to put this one in storage. I simply need to make room in the driveway. My loss here will surely be someone's gain. This vehicle currently resides in Clarksburg, Maryland. It is just two miles from Burdette Brothers Pontiac, where it was bought new in 1989. The Burdette Brothers Pontiac emblem is still proudly displayed on the trunk. This vehicle has been locally owned by my family for its entire life. It was purchased new by a cousin and given to my grandfather in 2001. Once my grandfather's driving days had passed him by, the vehicle became mine in 2008. Since I have had the vehicle, I have put approximately 30 thousand miles on it. It now has about 74k total. I have put a lot of money into it in both maintenance and performance upgrades, with the intention of keeping this vehicle long-term. New parts and performance upgrades include: -LeBra Black Vinyl Hood Bra & Front-End Mask -Custom Spoiler -Short Ram Air Intake -KYB GR-2 Gas Shocks & Struts all around -Magnaflow Stainless Steel High-Flow Catalytic Converter (50-state legal) -Wide-Open Chrome Muffler on new fully welded cat-back exhaust -Custom "Pontiac 6G" trunk emblem (modified G6 logo) -"Pontiac Racing" Windshield Decal -Sylvania Silver Star Headlights -Brand New Cooper Tires (less than 100 miles on them) -New Thermostat -New Water Pump -New brakes all around -New rear wheel cylinders -New front brake hose -New power steering hose -New belt and tensioner -New alternator -New battery (it is a Wal-Mart brand w/ 3yr warranty and they never stamped the date on it so you can get a freebie when this one goes bad) -Freshly serviced transmission (fluid & filter change) I can show you documentation for all of this work, but cannot let you have the receipts because I will be claiming them as deductions on my business's taxes. Additionally, the vehicle has a fresh coat of paint and a new headliner. It is pre-wired for a custom sound system. The amplifier wiring is in-place in the trunk and the radio head unit adapter and wiring are in-place in the dash. The aftermarket radio, amplifier, and subwoofers are not included. The original AM/FM/Cassette player is included, does work, and I will reinstall it for you if you wish. I am an ASE certified mechanic, and have performed most of the work on the vehicle myself. My ASE certification number is HP50X4PD0ENGLI. This vehicle is in excellent condition and has just passed the rigorous Maryland State Inspection at the Burdette Brothers dealership. This vehicle does come with a Maryland Inspection Certificate. It has also passed an emissions test here in the State of Maryland within the last year. Even though this vehicle is eligible for inspection and emissions exempt historic license plates, I have always carried standard registration on this vehicle. This vehicle is a 2.8 Multi-Port Fuel-Injected V6. It is front wheel drive. This vehicle is built on the same chassis as many other FWD GM sedans such as the Cutlass Cierra and Buick Century. Replacement parts for this vehicle are readily available if needed. It has an automatic transmission with overdrive and gets excellent gas mileage. I get an average highway mileage of 26-28 mpg. My wife and I, along with a friend of ours, drove this car to Oklahoma last summer and got over 30mpg on the long flat highways down there. This was even with three people in the car plus a trunk full of camping equipment and luggage. This car is very stylish. It goes back to the "We Build Excitement" days of Pontiac. It has the look and feel of a muscle car (especially with the spoiler, bra, and exhaust system) while maintaining the economy and utility of a modern front wheel drive sedan. One of my favorite parts of this car is the BOSCH fog lights which are built in from the factory and illuminate the road bright yellow. Options on this vehicle include power windows, power door locks, power driver sear, 60/40 split bench seat with flip-down center console & cup holder, cruise control, air-conditioning (works), and an electronic trunk popper with button in the locking glove box. The vehicle includes a jack and full-size spare. The photo of the trunk is shown without the sub-floor and carpet. These parts are included and are in excellent condition. This vehicle also includes an original owners manual, a pair of vintage suede Pontiac 6000 key chains that match the interior color, a pair of original GM keys, and a copied pair of keys. A set of original Pontiac carpeted floor mats are also included. There are only a couple bad points that I can think to mention. There is a dent on the lower right rocker panel. This happened a couple years ago when I had a tire blow out on me while driving through the mountains of western Maryland. There are two small patches on the lower portion of the rear seat. Also, the vehicle has been smoked in. I do not notice a smoke odor, but I do smoke myself. However, I have asked some of my non-smoking friends and they have told me that it does not stink. The vehicle was in an accident many years ago, before my grandfather owned it. The hood was replaced. You can tell by looking at the underside of the hood that it is a slightly different color. There is no signs of damage to the sub-frame or under-hood area. All body panels line up correctly and the steering/suspension is perfectly straight. Thank you for looking. I hope that someone else will enjoy this vehicle as much as I have. I really do hate to see it go. Buyer is responsible to arrange shipping. I reserve the right to cancel this listing at any time. I would be glad to show this vehicle to you in person. Please call me at 240-338-3205 to arrange a visit or ask questions. Again, my name is Aaron. Thanks!
