1991 BMW K1 SUPERBIKE. I recently purchased this bike from a collector out of state where it has been kept indoors. The bike was damaged on the plastic and tank and received scratches and dings from what seems like a hold-down strap. The bike is smooth, quiet and rides beautifully. I have only ridden the bike twice since I bought it, once to test it in the neighboorhood, once on the highway. I have been riding for 24 years and have never experienced anything like this bike IT IS INCREDIBLY FAST AND STRONG. I am a Harley rider, but I bought this bike because I have a matching DINAN E36 BMW car and thought it would be cool to have a matched set. I decided that I have no intention of going 186mph and would rather have another Harley instead. The cosmetic damage is minor and I was quoted 450.00 to repair it from a local high-end body shop and the seat has dried out over time and has cracked (structurally good, just needs recovering). Tires are in great shape, but there again, time has dried them out so I would recommend a new set if you are planning on using this bike to it's full potential. Right turn signal lens went AWOL when replacing the bulb and I will either replace it before selling the bike or reduce the price by the appropriate amount if you want to order it yourself. I have listed this bike with an appropriate reserve as I understand that it is not PERFECT and it needs some minor cosmetic touch up. Do some research, these bikes are selling from $7500-$12,500 with up to 100k miles on them. THIS BIKE ONLY HAS 7k !!!! If I invest the money to repair the cosmetics I am going to ask a premium price for it. This is an opportunity to own a true SUPERBIKE and a rare motorcycle for a realistic price. This bike was the fastest production bike in the world when it was introcuced (186mph off the showroom floor) and BMW only imported 500 of these bikes to the USA. VERY, VERY FEW ARE STILL AROUND. Do some research first and I will answer any questions that you may have. This bike does not have the bags that were an option nor does it have the rear seat cowling option (collector's will know what I'm talking about). They can be purchased online if you are interested in placing them on the bike to use it as a touring model. This bike was set up for going fast..... STUPID FAST !! PAYPAL is the safest method of payment to cover both parties and is the preferred method of payment. Cash or certified funds are ok too. NO CHECKS, I have been burned before. Do research and send questions, I will answer what I know about the bike. I have no history with this bike and can only relay what was told to me when I bought it from the collector. Also- forgot to mention, the key for the rear storage compartment has been misplaced (if you have young children you can relate). The compartment will still open to release the seat mechanism. I will either replace key and new lock before purchase or will reduce payment accordingly based on buyer's decision just like the turn signal lens.Good luck and happy bidding.
