Up for auction is this matching numbers, 1973 Triumph Trophy Trail TR5T. It is an above average, rider quality bike that has undergone some recent restoration. Listed are some new parts installed: Reproduction Seat Assembly New Old Stock Girling Rear Shock Absorbers and Chrome Springs Lucas Ignition Switch assembly Universal Trials Rear Tire and Tube Complete Exhaust System from Chrome Pipes to Muffler with All New Hardware Horn Assembly Kill Switch assembly Kick start lever assembly The gas tank is in excellent condition and has been stripped of old paint and repainted to exact specifications with new Triumph decals. The side covers have also been stripped of original paint and refinished with new Trophy Trail lettering. The engine runs, sounds and performs very good, with no smoke or unusual noises. The transmission shifts through all the gears with no issues and is quiet riding down the road. The clutch is not slipping at all and could probably benefit with some adjustment by a professional to get more free play, even though I understand that this is typical for older Triumphs. The bike handles and steers well and has lots of power. All of the lights are working including the brake light and the turn signals. The chrome has some fade due to age, but still shines. The headlight shell has some typical small peppery areas, but no dings or dents. When cold, and properly primed and choked, the engine will start on the second to third kick.
