For sale: 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata. These were a limited edition hot rod Miata built in 2004/2005 only. It featured an IHI RHF5 VJ35 turbocharger equipped variant of the BP-4W engine that produced 180 bhp (134 kW) at 6000 rpm with a front-mounted air-to-air intercooler. The MAZDASPEED could reach 60 mph (97 km/h) in 6.4 seconds and had a top speed of 203|km/h|126 mph. Other features included a special suspension, upgraded 6 speed transmission and clutch assemblies, upgraded drivetrain components, Racing Hart 17 in (430 mm) alloy wheels, special interior trim. The 2004 Mazdaspeed MX-5 was only available in Velocity Red Mica and Titanium Gray Metallic. Only 5,428 Mazdaspeed MX-5s were produced during model years 2004 and 2005." This one has the optional Grand Touring package which included cloth top with heated (glass) rear window, leather seats with red stitching, and some other "fancy crap" you really don't need but is nice to have. I particularly like the wind blocker! Now, the good stuff: 63k original miles, fastidiously maintained, no paint work (all ORIGINAL factory paint- no body damage EVER), perfect original cloth top, books, records, original factory top boot, all that jazz. I have also installed all the good Flyin' Miata upgrades like their great springs, sway bars, full SS big bore downpipe and full exhaust, adjustable boost kit, FM intake, huge FM intercooler, boost gauge, etc- about $6k worth of stuff. About 500 miles ago I had Mike's Place, Phx AZ, aka "Miata Mecca" do a full service- new timing belt, water pump, full tune/ fluids/ alignment/ etc- a $2k job. Also just put on a set of super sticky DOT rated R compound Falken Azenis RT-615 tires which were around $600 and still have the nubs on them. The car now makes around 200 RWHP, is a blast to drive and sounds awesome. Handles like a shifter kart. I am a mature, nationally known car collector, and searched long and hard for a MINT Mazdaspeed Miata to keep at our winter home in Scottsdale, Az. This was by far the best I found. I purchased it in California and drove it home then proceeded to upgrade and detail it to my standards. It has zero rust as you would expect from a Ca/Az car. The only flaws on the car are some minor scuffs on the very edge of the rims and some minor (insignificant) road rash on the very lower extremities- in other words, what you would expect from a 63k mile car. The a/c blows ice cold, the car is mechanically flawless, get in and drive it anywhere with confidence. Any pre-purchase inspection is welcomed. It will pass with flying colors.
