Your chance for a piece of muscle car history! Up for auction is this restorable 1969 American Motors Co. Javelin SST. This Javelin has been in storage for many years (decades est: late 80's) after a small front end accident it seems. So there is some front end damage. Fortunately there was an extra bumper so We have replaced that, straightend the hood and splash apron but it is far from perfect... Walking around the car I see: a Solid complete car, with a bit of rust on the front by the windshield. floor boards are solid. trunk is solid, just surface rust seen in pic. body is mostly straight. Seems to be very original, including the factory paint. Blue on blue. split bench front seat with armrest. Dash is Not cracked! (very nice!) all glass in good shape. Vinyl seats with cloth insert, material not brittle. Armrest needs repair as you can see from the custom tape repair. Headliner is separated from backing. The driver seat needs adjustment because it does slip back to reclining with some weight. passenger side is working properly, flips forward and reclines. 3 hubcaps. The motor is not seized.... tho we could not get it to crank due to a faulty starter. it is an Inline 232 6cyl 1 barrel with automatic transmission. Vin number corraborates that it is a true SST. (Did you know that SSTs feature Hotchkiss rear suspension?) Car rolls easily but no brakes. NOTE: no keys, no title, but we do have the proper paper work and bill of sale to reinstate/register the vehicle at DMV. Also, we will be on vacation and need the space for our other cars (living in San francisco, street parking is a commodity). so would really like the car GONE by 2/6/2011. If this is an issue, please email me so we can plan for that. So in closing, this pony car is a nice little barn-find, untouched thru the years. Good car for a full restoration, or for those mechanically inclined maybe a couple of weekends to have a driveable classic...... or a good parts car for their own project. As that these cars are over 30+ years old there is no warranties or gaurantees. These cars are offered to the experienced car person that knows what it takes to complete these projects. All sales are final $250 deposit within 48 hours. balance to be paid by the time of pick up. Buyer is responsible for transportation.
