Vehicle Detail
Hello. Thank you for viewing this true barn find! What I have here is a 1959 Triumph TR3 that we purchased with the property from my wifes late step-father. From what I have gathered by numbers, plates and plaque is this was produced for the 1959 selling year to run in races including the SCCA. It was registered and driven in Connecticut. That is where my late step-father in-law purchased it from. He drove it until he had a issue with the carbs. He then parked it in the barn about 16-18 years ago. Even though we found it cluttered with stuff on it, it has not been worn worse for the wear being in the barn. There was evidence of something getting to the foam seats. Otherwise everything appears only aged. Does include the convertibel top, door panels and tanau cover. These again are very dry and the plastic is yellowed. The hood is off but I believe I have found any loose pieces from the car including bumperettes and light covers. This does not appear to sag in the middle so I am lead to believe that the frame is still solid. This is not a driver! But this would make for a terrific restoration or parts for your ongoing restoration. This is that true barn find. A diamond in the rough! After talking to several people that know what triumphs are worth, I was told this should sell for over 2,000 with its decent body. I am starting the auction at $1,500. I do not have a ocpy of the registration. However, I do have proof of my purchase of it and will provide bill of sale for you to help you be able to obtain a registration for it. The car is cleared off as seen in the photos and ready to be moved. The car does come with a additional set of wheels and I will try to get those on and blown up for pick up with trailer or flat bed. There is no shipping for this item. Buyer is responsible for that. Buyer is to pay $200 vie paypal within 3 days of auctions end. Remainder is to be paid for within 8 days of auctions end. If paying via pay pal, including the deposit please wait for my instructions on how to post payment. Buyer can contact me to set up time to view vehicle. I will accept cash on pick up, but no later then 8 days from auctions end. Vehicle must be removed within 2 weeks of auctions end. If you have any questions, I will most happy to try to answere them for you.If you require other arrangments, please contact me so we may discuss them. From my viewing of it, I would have to say that it was originaly blue, then later repainted a bronze color? The interior had been black and the dash, door covers and rear cover later reuphoulstered in red. The seats are still black as was the carpet. Once you purchase it, you can file for a small fee the numbers with the Triumph registry to obtain papers of its birth date and colors and numbers. There are only a limited number of these fine cars registered in the world and they are getting harder to find. This would make a terrific restoration project! Thank you.On Jan-20-11 at 10:24:31 PST, seller added the following information: Please note. I have uploaded pictures of the rear quarter panels and rear panel the best I can as well as the best I can for the frame and front suspension. I have tried to turn the motor over without removing plugs, vlavle cover or oiling. I can not turn it by hand. Thanks.
