1987 Mercedes-Benz 300SDL Turbo Diesel 4 Door Automatic Transmission 246,951 Miles Here is link to some more photos. Click on the photo. Mercedes I purchased this car from a Sargent stationed at Ft. Campbell. He was driving home about a month ago and someone ran him off of the road. It was either hit the other driver head on or take the ditch. As you see, he chose to take the ditch. Sargent Brooks is deploying soon and did not have time to finish the repairs. He has sold the car to me and I have chose to sell it as well. I too, am just too busy to do the repairs myself. When it was wrecked there was a hole knocked in the oil pan. The engine was shut off immediately after he wrecked and has not been started since. We were sure it would do damage if we attempted to start it without the oil. We elected to leave it be. That said, we did crank the engine a few revolutions just to be sure it would still turn. It tried to start. To prevent any engine damage we didn't let it crank all the way up. I didn't see any damage to the frame during my inspection. That said I am not an insurance estimator and would not know what too look for other than obvious damage. I will attempt to list the visible damage I saw during inspection. Here is a list of parts that will need to be replaced: Oil pan Lower ball joint Tie rod end Tie rod end extender Fender Headlight Assembly Tire and wheel There is a brand new tire in the trunk. There is also another tire and wheel in the trunk. When I lowered the driver side window the battery went low and I couldn't get it back up. Sgt. Brooks said the fuse may have shot? The interior is showing it's age. The seats could use some TLC. There are some cracks in the vinyl on the dashboard. The entire interior will need to be cleaned. There were some cigarette butts in the ashtray. This car has been smoked in. The clear coat is fading on the roof of the car. On a good note, The tires were recently replaced. They are Michelin tires. Brooks purchased the car from the original owner who was a Doctor. The car was running well up until it was wrecked. Please look over the photos and bid with confidence.
