I am selling this car for parts of repair. I got water into the ignition lock and since then all electrical systems behind position 2 of the lock fail randomly. For a while that was happening intermittently and now it is not running at all. Electrical systems that are not behind the ignition lock are not affected. For example the starter motor cranks fine in lock position 3 but of course the engine doesn't start since there's no power for the ignition. Flashlights, warning lights, standing lights, trunk light and other things not dependent on the ignition lock all work normally. The car last ran December 14, 2010 and it has been in my heated garage on a battery maintainer since then. I decided not to attempt to repair it and already got a new car. I did not remove any parts and did not exchange anything since it broke down. The car is still in the same exact state that it was in when it was my daily commute car from March 2005 to December 2010. Recent parts: two new Michelin front tires September 2010 (have receipt). new crankshaft sensor September 2010 (have receipt). wheel alignment, oil and filter change at the same time. Have receipt, this September 2010 maintenance alone was $763. rear tires are from 2007 and still in very good shape. These are the Coopers that are OEM on the car. Have receipt (Sears). regular oil and filter changes 2005-2010. Brakes and exhaust have always been changed as needed. battery is from 2008 and marked as such. new windshield 2009 (warranty replacement, JN Philips). The convertible roof opened and closed with no problems last time I used it. Heated seats did not work. A/C did not work last time I tried to use it. There is an aftermarket radio frame in there that I used a standard format Sony radio in. The Sony radio is not included, just the frame is. The body is in good shape except for a small dent in the front left fender, some scratches on top of the trunk, a ripped seam in the drivers seat (leather is not ripped, just the thread came loose) and a stain in the passenger's carpet.
