Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE I am auctioning off my 1985 Blazer that I originally intended to use as a 4x4 project and equip it to use as a dedicated off road vehicle. I bought this a couple of years ago so my son and I could work on it as an off road project together. It had a worn out motor when we bought it but the transmission, transfer case and differentials are in good shape as far as know. We pulled the motor and purchased a new crate motor from Summit and installed it. I don’t have the time or money to finish the project and as my son is in college now, he doesn’t have time or money either. Right now it is in storage for the winter and I need to auction this off and use the proceeds to help with next semester. The motor runs great(it should, it’s brand new). The exterior is not in too bad of shape but it is an 85 and it shows its age with a few rust spots. The interior is not torn up but it will also need just a bit of TLC. We wanted to make this an off road vehicle because I could not get the emissions certificates for our county. I probably could have detuned it and maybe made some other adjustments, but in the end, settled on just an off road brush beater. If you live in a state or county that does not have a smog test requirement, and you want a cool old 4x4 truck to sort of work on, tinker with, and just go did in the mud with, this is your ride. When we bought this Blazer with a bad motor we paid $800.00. We have since paid for new motor, drive lines, u-joints, yokes, battery, distributor, and ignition system. I am starting this auction for $750.00 with all transportation costs the responsibility of the winner. This is about 30% of what we have put in to this vehicle. It was going to be a project but just didn’t work out. Could be a great opportunity for the right person to get a good old 4x4 at a great price. Let me start with what it has. A brand new 350 C.I. crate motor from Summit racing with transferable warranty. New front and rear drive shafts, yokes, and u-joints from Six states distributors. Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold with Edelbrock carb jetted for high altitude. We live at 5800 feet above sea level. I have the stock jets. I put in a new MSD HEI distributor with new cap, wires, and 6A ignition module. A new harmonic balancer and radiator. It has a 6” lift with 33” tall tires. A brand new battery. What it will need. Obviously, a license plate for your state. The driver side power window does not work. I am not sure if it needs a new motor, regulator, power switch or something else. I believe that the tie rod ends may also need attention. It needs a fan shroud. The front hubs should be torn down, the bearings inspected and reassembled, just to make sure that they are in good shape. I was going to do this but just haven’t been able to get to it. This Blazer runs good but it will need to trailered to it’s new home. The oversize tires that are on it right now are wider that your standard car haul trailer that you pull behind a pick up. So you will need a wider trailer to haul it on. The winner of this auction should make a 25% deposit via paypal with two days of close of auction and the balance due at the time of pick up which should be in no more than 7 days of close of auction. The winner must arrange for their own transportation. I have tried to list all of the positives with the negatives. This vehicle is auctioned as an “as is” vehicle and has no warranty other than the one offered with the new crate GM motor from Summit Racing. It has a clean Utah Title with no liens. Thanks for looking. On Jan-07-11 at 17:16:31 PST, seller added the following information: There has been some interest in the condition of the floor pans. I tried to look under the carpet but was unable to get a good inspection on the interior side of the pans. I looked underneath and they looked pretty clean to me. There is one rust spot on the passenger side that is showing but should clean up real easy. The fender wells are in pretty good shape with the exception of the passenger side which is showing a small hole that is rusted through. I have posted some new pics of these areas. I measured the width and it is almost 7'. Once again, thanks for looking. On Jan-08-11 at 17:35:20 PST, seller added the following information: If anyone is interested here is a Youtube video of this motor being ran up a bit. Don't worry, we had the oil nice and warm before we opened it up. Even with the small jets it still runs just a bit rich. Remember, this is a stock small block. It is not going to sound like a 400 hp race motor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WLIfjcEk0k Here is a link to the Summit Racing info for the motor that is in it. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NAL-10067353/
