Vehicle Detail

***I reserve the right to end the auction at any time for pending local sale***Up for sale is my 1970 Oldsmobile SX convertible! The car is a great driver! Correct numbers matching 455 2bbl engine and matching TH400 trans. Just under 49,400 miles **The car is currently in heated storage, paid in full until April 1, 2011.** To view the car, I need a few days notice to schedule with the facility. 1 of 793 1970 SX convertibles 455ci - number matching carb to pan. 320 horsepower@ 4200RPM // 500ft-lbs@2400rpm // 10.25:1 high-compression 2-bbl 455ci V-8 L-33 2bbl carb TH400 automatic // column shift - number matching Gold exterior Gold interior Bench seat Power top [A parade/top cover for when the top is down will be included - new] Power brakes [disc front] Power windows Power steering AM/FM/8-track Deluxe / Sport steering wheel Dual Sport Mirrors Set of 5 SSI wheels A/C - would work but one hose is damaged that comes off of the compressor. Split bench seat with armrest - the driver side seating area was re-upholstered on the lower section with new material. The rest of the bench is original. The door panels were recovered. SSI wheels and tirm rings/caps are driver quality. I plan to order replacement center cap inserts for the SSIs to make them great and polish the stainless rings/trim. Cowl tag breakdown: S 70-34267 BF 00245 BDY TR 994 58H PNT 12A 200466 780091 70 = 1970 Model year 3 = Oldsmobile 42 = Cutlass Supreme 67 = Convertible BF = Assembly at Fremont 00245 = sequence number 994 = Gold Vinyl Bench Seat 58 = Lower Body: Burnished Gold H = Gold Top 12A = Built first week in December 1969 The top was originally gold and a white top was added a few years ago. Newer back window. The car runs and drives great and gets a lot of attention! Very dry CA car! Check out the underside! While I do not have documentation - the car is straight and very, very clean underneath. I have no reason to doubt the mileage - it looks great. The car was tapped in the right rear quarter a number of years ago. Original metal was pulled and corrected. No patch panels welded. You can see when you open the trunk that the original metal was reshaped [NO BONDO] and they did a fairly good job in keeping the original metal. The body looks great and is solid. The car was repainted a few years ago - looks great in gold, the original color. The car was sold new at Bob Black Olds in Santa Ana, CA, I have not checked on the top of the gas tank for the build sheet - very dry chassis/body so i imagine if they put one there at the factory, it is still there. There is a ground issue at the cluster that causes the fuel gauge to act odd when you turn on the lights. I have a replacement fuel gauge included that I purchased recently. I installed new taillights and gaskets and I am in the process of installing new reverse lamp sockets [as I have new lenses and gaskets]. One socket needs replacing because of a bulb. I am replacing the license plate light gasket as well. Some Pypes tips were cut down [stainless] and welded on since the originals could not be saved - I will include a new set of aftermarket pieces with the car as well. New mufflers were added to the original pipes. New parts included with the car: -New trunk mat and new hood insulation to replace the missing/torn originals. -New stainless parking brake hardware [lines, hardware etc front to back] new in the box. -Misc fasteners for the interior -Dash chrome trim -New/installed washer fluid tank and cap -Decals -New correct battery tray with hold down to replace the aftermarket hold down the previous owner added. -A parade/top cover for when the top is down will be included -Much more and all spare parts are included! Somewhere along the way someone sprayed blue paint in the engine bay. This can be removed pretty easy. I was planning to refinish the intake and valve covers and the fill tube. This is a great driver, take it anywhere! Please feel free to ask / email questions! I reserve the right to end the auction early due to possible local sales.
