Up for sale is a rare find! An authentic 1977 El Camino Super Sport They only made about 5226 of these cars total,The 73-77 is the best looking of all the el camino's with the longest body! In 1978 They changed to a much smaller chassis. Dont be fooled by so many imitation SS's, this is the REAL DEAL! Not a clone. The real ones are worth the most,and go up in value each and every day! We are the second owners of this vehicle. It belonged to a man from oklahoma who purchased it new. My father and I purchased this car from him about 12 years ago. Its been in our family ever since. This car has never been in an accident! It was assembled in the arlington texas plant! It came from the factory with a 305 engine and TH350 tranny. The 305 was very tired so I replaced it with a 4 bolt main 350 from a later year chevy, and had it bored and stroked to a 383! Not sure how accurate the odometer is, But on the new engine we had built it has less than 6,000 miles on it! There is an aluminum corvette oem intake manifold which has been ported to match the corvette heads! 2.02 intake 1.6 exhaust valves, guide plates, corvette springs and rockers. Rockers are 1.5's . Speed Pro Pistons, 400 crank and rods. Crane Camshaft and pushrods. ( perfect street cam ). Long tube headers. Stock tranny had a shift kit installed about 9 years ago. This car had some body work done about 5 years ago. Had panels welded on from NPD restoration catalogue, and had some dents removed etc. All of the chrome in original on this car!!! I have all of the orignal trim as you can see in the pictures. The chrome going around the windshield and backglass is in very good shape which is very fortunate because its hard to find! Luckily everything is there. This camino had a soft tonneau cover at one time which had brand new buttons installed on both sides about 5 years ago. The tonneau was stolen, but a new one can be picked up from restoration catalogues, or made to fit. The front and rear wheels are rally wheels. I have additional center caps for them which are in really good shape which i am including with the car. I also have a wood steering wheel which is made by grant which I am including with the car. I am also including the white SS stripes in the box, that cost over $300.00! There are rally wheels on this car which look the best by far. This rare car also has from the factory a 3 speed auto on the floor with ss button shifter! No ugly column shifter. It has swivel bucket seats which is a VERY rare and very very desirable option! This car has factory Air Conditioning, however it needs 1 new line its disconnected currently. The interior color is called firethorn and is red/white. There is an aftermarket cd player in the dash. This El Camino is VERY solid and needs a good home and a fresh restoration. The interior needs work, and so does the exterior...There is rust on the doors , see pictures, But this is to be expected from a 33 year old classic car. The engine runs great, It just needs to be timed, and carb. jets set. Also needs a new transmission pan gasket. There are also working Air Shocks in the back, The shocks were replaced in the front with oem style about 5 years ago. There is also the original SS square badge on the dashboard!The side pipes are Real. They were made by a company called Patriot if my memory serves me right. They sound great! This car does have dings and scratches scuffs etc. outside. please see pictures. This is not a show car sitting the way it is. Overall Its a great car thats very very workable and can be restored quickly and gorgeously by someone who knows. I am selling this car as is so please ask any and all questions before buying.
