Vehicle Detail

Gorgeous, rare, collectible 1978 Lincoln Diamond Jubilee Edition Mark V up for auction. NO RESERVE, bid early and often! You've heard it before, and now it's my turn: My Loss is Your Gain! Over $10K invested, service records included. 71k, powerful 460 V8, every option available including power quarter windows and "miles to empty" digital readout. Relisting due to non-responsive winning bidder. If you can't follow through, please do not bid. What sets this Mark V apart other than it's incredible condition, the striking color combination (many of the Diamond Jubilee Editions were gold or tan) and completely original state (down to then Lincoln floor mats and the full size spare!) is the fact that it's a Diamond Jubilee Edition with the HUGE Astro-Roof, so big almost feels like a convertible! Being a fan of these Lincoln Marks I have never come across a Diamond Jubilee Edition Mark V with the moonroof; generally they have the solid vinyl carriage top. All the goodies are present; the power quarter windows, the moonroof retracts easily and doesn't leak (I was driving in a pouring rainstorm the other day and was amazed that I didn't see a single drip!) and the headlight doors open and close properly. The Lincoln has a new set of Cooper Lifetime all season wide whitewall radials and the color coded turbine wheels are in excellent condition. The a/c does not work, the interior could use a good cleaning and the center console lid has an opening at the seam of the upholstery, otherwise the seats and interior are in nice shape, no tears or excessive wear. The decal on the console lid peels off. She runs great, starts easily, idles quiet, shifts smooth, accelerates impressively and handles really well for a car of this size. Cosmetically the pix speak for themselves, the Lincoln is super clean, paint shiny, absolutely no rust or bubbling anywhere, interior cushy and just a joy to look at. It even has the little diamond chips in the oval opera window, dotting the "I"s in Diamond Jubilee. Includes rare Lincoln toolkit which came with the Diamond Jubilee package. You can read about all the special features of the Diamond Jubilee Edition at this link: http://automotivemileposts.com/mark51978diamondjubilee.html "Regardless of what other cars may have been compared to the Diamond Jubilee Mark V, they just don't come more luxurious or better equipped. It truly was the most luxurious Continental ever produced. Of course, they are very rare and highly prized collectible cars today." I bought it from the original owner in Pennsylvania, it belonged to his wife who had it garaged all its life. I've always wanted a Diamond Jubilee Edition Mark V but I need the $$$, same old story. The Lincoln presents exceptionally well, I actually had someone ask me if he could take a picture when I was at the gas station yesterday! Overall a beautiful example of a Classic American Cruiser, will only appreciate in value over time. Too much invested, too little $$$ in the piggybank and now she's gotta go.
