1997 BMW R850R 850cc fuel injected oil cooled boxer twin, 5 speed transmission with shaft final drive.This smaller, lighter version of the naked oilhead boxer was only imported for 2 years. It is less well known than the 1100cc version but is more nimble and great fun to ride. This bike would be a great way to step up to the smoothness and reliability of a BMW at a reasonable price.Battery and brake master cylinder were new this summer. Tires are in almost new condition. The pictures show the few cosmetic flaws and scratches. The bike is mechanically perfect. Everything works including the 2 stage grip heaters. The original tool kit is included. The bike is completely stock except for the brown seat cover. There was a tear in the seat and I had it re-covered this summer. I chose the brown vinyl instead of the original black because I thought it went well with the green paint. It does not have ABS brakes. My main touring bike is a 1995 BMW R1100RS with over 70,000 miles. I really enjoy riding BMW'sI am selling this bike to finance the restoration of a 1963 Triumph Bonneville.
