Vehicle Detail
1985 Cutlass Supreme This is a single family owned car. Ken, a good friend of mine, inherited it from his Grandmother. She was the original owner. The car went to Kens' dad next and it eventually made its way to Ken (the grandson). It has 64,000 original miles on it. This car has been in their family since new. It has a clean / clear Georgia title (in Ken's name) that states only 031,264 actual miles documented on 06-24-97. My name has not been added, but I do have possession of the car and the title. Ken traded this gorgeous Cutlass to me, when he bought a 69' Camaro I was selling. He didn't have enough money to buy my Camaro outright so I accepted his Cutlass as a $5000 partial payment. This car is exceptionally nice and I figured it wouldn't be hard to sell. This car is as nice as the pictures show. The paint looks wet and glossy and the body is straight. It is not dented or all dinged up. There are however some paint flaws, but they're minor and are hard to see. The top area of the (rubber type) front bumper has a few small spots where the paint looks like it didn't adhere well. Anyway, Ken had the car re-painted about 6 years ago and it sat for the last 3 or 4 years in his garage. When I got the car, the paint had quite a bit of imperfections know as orange peal. So, I paid someone to color sand and buff the car ($300). I was amazed at how beautiful the paint came out! I had the gold pinstriping applied by a professional "pin striper" ($100). He did it just like the factory "442" striping. I bought a used set of Oldsmobile Rally wheels ($350) and had them professionaly painted with gold "automotive" paint ($100). I had a set of custom "white letters" (Cutlass Supreme) lettering put on the (60% tread left) black wall tires ($100). They are really cool and look great! I also had a new A/C compressor installed along with new plugs, wires, cap and rotor ($472). Anyhow, I think you can see where I came up with the $6500 Buy-it-Now" price. It's close to "break even" money if I don't count any of my labor? The interior is factory original and in very good condition. I didn't notice any rips, tears, cracks or burns. There is some fading, of course, it's a 25 year old car. I encourage you to look at the car in person to determine for yourself the condition and value of the car prior to bidding. I am located in Daytona Beach Florida and would love to show you the car! The car runs and drives very good. I recently drove it on a 2 hour road trip to "Webster Florida" for a car show. The suspention feels tight and it drove nice. The trunk is clean (no spare). Under the hood looks good, like any older car (not detailed). The undercarriage is clean (no rust) but also not detailed. This is not a Hot Rod (although you could install a nice little V-8 performance motor) and I'm not claiming it to be a show car either. It is however, a very beautiful car and a great daily driver! It's hard to find a nice classic car in this low price range. Believe me when I say "You'll be proud to drive this car"!!!!!!!!!!! You won't be disappointed. This car is sold "as is" with no warranties expressed, written or implied. I have a car trailer and delivery is possible (but not included). I could always pick you up at the bus station or local airport and you could drive it home! Many possibilities...just ask 386-566-6623 Thanks, John On Dec-30-10 at 13:59:49 PST, seller added the following information: I've had quite a few inquiries asking if I'd consider selling it for less than $6500. I also could use some money to finish a bitchin' 1951 Mercury. So, I've decided to lower the "Buy-it-Now" price to $6000 and I will consider dropping the reserve if it gets close. Please be responsible and only bid the amount you actually have available. Be sure to check with your spouse and/or bank and don't forget about the delivery or pick up expenses. This auction is a legal and binding contract. Thanks, JohnOn Jan-01-11 at 08:31:22 PST, seller added the following information: I've decided to take the bullet and remove my reserve. So, the next one who bids (over the current high bid of $4550) will be in line to own this car. It will be sold to the last, final & highest bidder regardless of their bid amount! Good luck and remember "serious" bidders only! (Please don't waste our time) Thanks again, John
