This GT350 is in the Shelby SAAC Registry. With a Carroll Shelby signed glove box door, including the Serial Number. IMPORTANT DETAILS: YES - The K-Code Vin on the 289 Hi-PO Motor can be read and has been verified by SAAC to be the Original Shelby Motor. The Heads on the Block also are correct as one has "19" and the other has "21" on the corners. The Engine Vin Matches the Shelby Serial Number (Vin) Tag on Car. The Shelby Vin Tag on front fender Matched the Vin on Title (SFM6S1545) and is Titled as a "1966 Ford" (as all 66 Shelbys). The Title is a Clear Texas Title. It seems that every Shelby has its own unique history and this car is no exception. Perfect cars with perfect history bring $250K and Ive seen cars restored wth a NON Original Motor bring 80K-100K, here is a Great Chance to own 66 GT350 History at a Great Price. She is also a real Candy Apple Red Car; but originally was an Automatic with Painted Magnum 500 Wheels and No Stripes. (Production on this Shelby was between a lot of Hertz cars, that may have something to do with the automatic and wheels...who knows.) SCCA shows that this car had had many owners up to the mid 80s and found that this Shelby may have been raced in her past. Original Racing options on this car is an Original Ford Cobra High Performance Tri-Power setup, Roller-Rockers, a Curry Upgraded 9” Rear Axle, a Borg Warner T-10 4 Speed Transmission with a High Performance Clutch and Radio Delete, even at one point she had the racing “backseat delete” tray (now long gone). During her current restoration all of these options stayed on the car, keeping to her past. Back in the mid 80s she was also once owned by an insurance company as it was a theft auto, she also shows to had been in 1 or 2 possible accidents; maybe from racing or not. Here is what was found during inspection. She shows that the front core support and inner fenders have been replaced, you can tell this was done many, many years ago since the metal was used from another mustang and the body work looks much older and less professional then today’s restoration work (see pictures). Not wanting to use aftermarket new sheet metal or hide anything; all of this previous work, the inner fender and core body work was left untouched as we wanted to leave her history intact. Since she has had "early life" past body work that is core replacment to the car, some would consider her a rebody, you be the judge. Also, the passenger rear quarter panel was replaced at a later date; because new re-production metal was used and the welds are much better than the others. Regarding some items correct to a Shelby body; Exhaust Support brackets are under rear seat. She had the support brace under rear trunk pan that can be seen in left drain hole and felt with finger. The Rear Axle Snubber Plate and bumper are also in place. The firewall suppoert bracket for the Export Brace is there. The Side Scoops for rear brakes are functional. All that could be done for the remaining sheet metal was to inspected sheet metal stampings for date code and factory code. Sheet metal was stamped for San Jose, Ca and the date decodes are within a few weeks of the engine block. The Floor pans were in excellent condition and did not need any work. Some of her original parts that survived over the years and left original is her Gas cap, Rear Emblem and hood, these are some parts that are usually lost, removed or damaged. RESTORATION DETAILS: This Car was a complete disassembled restoration. She has many brand new parts or restored Original. Some of the new items include all New Authorized correct Ford Wiring, All New Fuel System, All New Show Correct Shelby Exhaust with H-Pipe, Correct Primer Red Undercarriage, Suspension Restoration and All New Brake System including correct Master Cylinder and all new Lines. Radiator installed is a "Northern Brand" Aluminum Radiator. She does still has her Original Fan Blade. The Front Disc Brakes have been upgraded with Performance Slotted Disc. New Correct Red Koni Gas Shocks, Side Stripes are even Authorized SCC GT350 Stripes and MUCH MORE to list. During restoration we did replace some of the original parts to update her look and feel; those parts are included with the car. Original trac bars and some of her original Interior trim. Couple Items: The "Original" T-Style oil pan was not on the car prior to resoration and not available. Also, the Distributor is not correct, she had a vintage Aftermarket Mallory (included) prior to restoration and I have not been able to find a correct “date-coded” NON-Vac advanced one. This is something the new owner will need to look for and may want to replace. Carroll Shelby has also signed the Glove Box door and has included the Shelby Serial Number with his signature. NO RESERVE......PLEASE READ COMPLETE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BID.....Please check out the 92-Pictures and 2 Videos Below. 1966 Ford Shelby GT350, #1545. This GT350 is in the Shelby SAAC Registry. With a Carroll Shelby signed glove box door, including the Serial Number. IMPORTANT DETAILS: YES - The K-Code Vin on the 289 Hi-PO Motor can be read and has been verified by SAAC to be the Original Shelby Motor. The Heads on the Block also are correct as one has "19" and the other has "21" on the corners. The Engine Vin Matches the Shelby Serial Number (Vin) Tag on Car. The Shelby Vin Tag on front fender Matched the Vin on Title (SFM6S1545) and is Titled as a "1966 Ford" (as all 66 Shelbys). The Title is a Clear Texas Title. It seems that every Shelby has its own unique history and this car is no exception. Perfect cars with perfect history bring $250K and Ive seen cars restored wth a NON Original Motor bring 80K-100K, here is a Great Chance to own 66 GT350 History at a Great Price. She is also a real Candy Apple Red Car; but originally was an Automatic with Painted Magnum 500 Wheels and No Stripes. (Production on this Shelby was between a lot of Hertz cars, that may have something to do with the automatic and wheels...who knows.) SCCA shows that this car had had many owners up to the mid 80s and found that this Shelby may have been raced in her past. Original Racing options on this car is an Original Ford Cobra High Performance Tri-Power setup, Roller-Rockers, a Curry Upgraded 9” Rear Axle, a Borg Warner T-10 4 Speed Transmission with a High Performance Clutch and Radio Delete, even at one point she had the racing “backseat delete” tray (now long gone). During her current restoration all of these options stayed on the car, keeping to her past. Back in the mid 80s she was also once owned by an insurance company as it was a theft auto, she also shows to had been in 1 or 2 possible accidents; maybe from racing or not. Here is what was found during inspection. She shows that the front core support and inner fenders have been replaced, you can tell this was done many, many years ago since the metal was used from another mustang and the body work looks much older and less professional then today’s restoration work (see pictures). Not wanting to use aftermarket new sheet metal or hide anything; all of this previous work, the inner fender and core body work was left untouched as we wanted to leave her history intact. Since she has had "early life" past body work that is core replacment to the car, some would consider her a rebody, you be the judge. Also, the passenger rear quarter panel was replaced at a later date; because new re-production metal was used and the welds are much better than the others. Regarding some items correct to a Shelby body; Exhaust Support brackets are under rear seat. She had the support brace under rear trunk pan that can be seen in left drain hole and felt with finger. The Rear Axle Snubber Plate and bumper are also in place. The firewall suppoert bracket for the Export Brace is there. The Side Scoops for rear brakes are functional. All that could be done for the remaining sheet metal was to inspected sheet metal stampings for date code and factory code. Sheet metal was stamped for San Jose, Ca and the date decodes are within a few weeks of the engine block. The Floor pans were in excellent condition and did not need any work. Some of her original parts that survived over the years and left original is her Gas cap, Rear Emblem and hood, these are some parts that are usually lost, removed or damaged. RESTORATION DETAILS: This Car was a complete disassembled restoration. She has many brand new parts or restored Original. Some of the new items include all New Authorized correct Ford Wiring, All New Fuel System, All New Show Correct Shelby Exhaust with H-Pipe, Correct Primer Red Undercarriage, Suspension Restoration and All New Brake System including correct Master Cylinder and all new Lines. Radiator installed is a "Northern Brand" Aluminum Radiator. She does still has her Original Fan Blade. The Front Disc Brakes have been upgraded with Performance Slotted Disc. New Correct Red Koni Gas Shocks, Side Stripes are even Authorized SCC GT350 Stripes and MUCH MORE to list. During restoration we did replace some of the original parts to update her look and feel; those parts are included with the car. Original trac bars and some of her original Interior trim. Couple Items: The "Original" T-Style oil pan was not on the car prior to resoration and not available. Also, the Distributor is not correct, she had a vintage Aftermarket Mallory (included) prior to restoration and I have not been able to find a correct “date-coded” NON-Vac advanced one. This report is what is used by Customs to verify an auto prior to export. On Jan-02-11 at 07:54:09 PST, seller added the following information: SAAC Registry has this auto in its registry as a Theft/Unrecoverd auto from 1987. The registry as stated that they would not update the registry without a letter from the Insurance Company stating recovered. This letter is unable to be located since the insurance company from 1987 is un-known by the registry or by any Multi State agency to locate the company. The car was said to have been recovered and purchased over 20 years ago and in storage. This is not a perfect history car and any bid placed is based on bidders own determination of value based on history, restoration or personal interpretation.
