1940 BUICK SPECIAL EIGHT SEDAN "President of Buick Harlow Curtice was all smiles in 1940 as the division had its best sales year in the history of the company. It was also in this year that the four millionth Buick was built. The company's success in 1940 was no real surprise. The six series sported fresh front end styling and included new 'Torpedo' bodies on the Super, Roadmaster, Special and Century" Up for auction is a genuine piece of American history. I have watched this car set in an old gas station/used car lot showroom window for the last 26 years. This car was sold to me in an estate sale last week. I was told the car last ran 10 years ago. I have not attempted to start the Buick at this point, and I intend to sell it in its original, un-restored shape. This car is in outstanding condition, as you will notice by viewing the pictures. It is equip as listed: 1940 Buick Special Eight Sedan Straight 8 cylinder 3 speed manual transmission factory swivel roof mounted antenna original spare tire, and jack, tire tools ect....This car has truly been tucked away in a time capsule.
