Vehicle Detail
1979 Chevrolet El Camino Conquista. It was my daily driver until recently. I moved from Atlanta, Ga to Jacksonville, Fl. Upon arriving in Florida with it I heard the lifters ticking. I pulled the dipstick and found water in the oil, leading me to believe I blew a head gasket on the way here. It has been parked inside since then (about 10 days ago). The car was two toned when new, black and burgandy. It has a burgandy interior. It has been partially changed to gray. It has the original little 267 V8 engine, 2 barrel carb, 3 speed automatic transmission, bench seat, power windows, power door locks, tilt steering column, rally gauges with the tachometer and the clock, and cruise control. Since I have had the car, I bought a set of Avenger wheels for it, a brand new Safelite windshield ($230.00 because the radio antenna is built into it), replaced the passengers side door, and replaced the front brake pads, rotors, wheel bearings, and seals. For a little bit more, I have a 1988 model 5.7 liter (350) standard bore engine, uncut crank, new Voodoo performance camshaft, new pistons in the box, a factory aluminum GM 4 barrel intake, gasket set, double roller timing chain etc that can go with it. I wanted to build that engine and put it in this car, but I work too many hours (on cars) and do not have the desire to do so anymore. The body has damage, mostly on the right side, the front fender, quarter just behind the door down low, and on the tail gate. The interior is a mess, dash is all cracked up, but they make a shell that is vacuum formed to fit over the original and look like the original for about $125. The carpet needs tossed out, door panels are mix and match on colors.. No sun visors, headliner etc. All lights, wipers, and even the horn works! And the heater would run you slap out of there. The car is very SOLID, and I have only seen two rust holes in the entire car since I have had it. One is around the windshield frame, behind the chrome molding, and you may fit the tip of a #2 pencil in there. The other is just under the back glass and is smaller than a dime. The floors and bed appear to be in very good condition. This is a no reserve auction. The last bid owns it. If you can't pay, please don't bid. The car is located in Jacksonville, Florida, around the corner of Arlington Road and Atlantic Blvd. Car must be pain in full within 7 days of the auctions end. Car is for sale locally, so please don't miss out, as I have had many calls and a few people come look already. I would STRONGLY recommend trailering this car, as the engine will start and run, but it can and will seize at any given moment in the condition it is in now. I have a clear title in my name for this car. Car can be stored up to 30 days from the time the auction ends. Thank you for looking, and if you have any questions, please call or e-mail me, and I will get back to you as soon as my work schedule permits. Frank(404)-219-9319hotrodfc@yahoo.com I have thought it over, and I will let the 350 engine above go with the car to the highest bidder. The car is in Jacksonville, Florida, but the engine is in Dawsonville, Georgia. If you are in no big hurry I will be able to pick it up and bring it back to Florida, or you can pick it up in Georgia. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION!!! If there is a bid, there is a new owner!! Don't snooze on this one or you will miss out!!
