Hello! Please check out my 100% feedback rating and bid on this sweet, reliable Jaguar at an amazing price with confidence!!! (Yes, I did say RELIABLE, and yes, I AM talking about a Jaguar!) Up for sale is my 1982, British Racing Green, 4 door, Jaguar with a Chevy 350 Engine inside. Not only is it a real head-turner, which got you here in the first place, but read on to learn more... **The person I bought it from in SC told me that it was converted by Dale Earnhardt's mechanic, and I have no reason to believe otherwise... However, I can't prove this, except to say the seller was extremely honest and good-natured, so I believe him, and everyone who has checked out his work has agreed it was a great conversion.** The car runs excellent. It passed inspection on the first try last year, but it just expired last month, so you will have to get it re-inspected. It is in my driveway, and I start it and drive around the block every week, but I have to sell it now because I need the money badly! I bought the car last year, and spent over $5,000 to fix it up. Here is what I did:1) Replaced entire front end (suspension, shocks, etc.) -- THIS MAKES IT AN EXTREMELY SMOOTH RIDE, AND FAST AS HECK.2) Replaced entire dashboard and all gauges3) Rewired most of the electrical system by my Jag mechanic4) New radio/cd5) New Jag floormats 6) New dash pad7) Replaced sunroof8) Replaced gas tank and solenoid valves.9) Multiple tune-ups, oil changes, check-ups... and the car has run great since day 1!! I have owned other Jaguars before, but I decided I would only buy one again if it had a Chevy Engine in it. These conversions cost at least $5,000 to do, and usually are not done well. But this one has been checked out by multiple mechanics, and it was a pristine conversion. NO MATTER WHAT THE WEATHER, OR THE CONDITIONS, THIS THING STARTS RIGHT UP AND GOES FOREVER. So, I bought it, and I love it. However, I don't have the funds these days to keep a luxury extra car, so my Toyota Rav4 will unfortunately have to suffice! Here are the few problems I want to disclose, EVEN THOUGH THE CAR RUNS GREAT!:1) Windshield has a crack, so it needs to be replaced (approximately $200 at any auto glass, I have the estimate)2) The horn has been disconnected because it was sticking and staying on, so if you want to fix this, it's your choice. I didn't have the $50 to give the mechanic to do this.3) The Crankshaft seal has a leak, which does not hinder the operation of the car at all. The part is about $20, but my mechanic said it would take him 4 hours to do the job, so I did not do this. I recommend never getting this fixed, and just making sure there is always oil, and I have never had any substantial loss of oil that alarmed me. Sometimes you can smell a little oil after driving it, due to this, but it is not an issue that will affect the life of the car or its reliability. I guess if you are a mechanic, or you can afford 4 hours labor, you might as well fix it, but I am not, and the car runs great anyway! It is smooth, fast, and definitely turns heads.5) The right passenger side window does not go down - $50 to get it fixed - a simple job.6) The sunroof opens a little less than half-way, but you can decide if you ever want to fix this. (Who cares?)7) The paint job is solid, and looks very good, but there is some bubbling around the windows. It isn't very bad at all, and in my opinion, I would go another few years before repainting it, since the car still looks excellent. The sunroof has been painted to match the rest of the car, and looks pretty good. Nobody will really notice a difference unless they are really looking hard. The body of the car is in solid shape, and looks great.8) Sometimes, since its a Jag, an occasional light will go on in the dashboard such as BRAKE or something else, but nothing is really wrong. I ignore this, but if you want to fix it, it's an easy fix with any Jag mechanic.. just an electrical short.9) The interior looks very good. If you really want to go for it, you might want to throw a new headliner on it and glue some loose ends here and there, but it looks very clean and nice to the eye. I would just leave it, since it looks fine and drives great. The odometer reads 86,000 miles, but in reality the car has over 120,000 miles. This is because the dashboard and gauges have been replaced. Also, keep in mind, that this conversion was done about 40,000 miles ago, so the new engine doesn't have nearly this many miles. In closing, you are buying a 1982 car, not a 2010 car. So don't expect it to be a perfect vehicle. However, this car starts up on the first try every time, and I have found it to be totally reliable.
