This is well used and driven daily 1998 Ford Expedition 4x4 SUV with Police Package and Towing Package! This is a good old fashion no reserve auction! The vehicle starts every time and it has been reliable for us for the past five years. We will miss it. I am selling two of my driven daily vehicles and I have regretably gone to a hybrid. But I do not have use for the vehicle anymore and found it to be a little excessive commuting in it daily. The vehicle was purchased from the California Highway Patrol in 2006 with about 155,000 miles on the odometer. It was used by the Captain at the Sacramento Training Academy and it was well kept during its police work stint. Even better, I bought refurbished by the State; when they used to sell vehicles right there at the academy. We have some of the service records from the past five years. During the time that we had it we had the Air Conditioning unit redone, the radiator replaced, and brake work etc. The larger engine is well worth the money for those that need towing. While we have never towed anything with the vehicle, the optional larger 5.4L engine is the one to get! This is an important option on this vehicle that sets it apart from many of the standard packages. The vehicle has two rows of seats; a cassette player; air conditioning; and a police package that includes a thicker radiator for used in difficult California climates, heavy duty suspension and other items related to the engine that came with this package; cruise control; and; four wheel drive. Cosmetically, it is in acceptable condition with some dents and bruises. One is on the rear quarter panel see photos when I got to close to a metal bar that guarded a gas station pump. A significant tear in the front drivers seat. It could use a good thorough cleaning. I used a hose to wash it off for the pictures but some of the dirt streaks need to be wiped off etc. The engine compartment needs to be cleaned as well. However, you can see all of the newer metal parts from work over the past few years. The tires are in excellent condition and are new from this past year. The brakes probably need work. I don't hear squeeks and they don't bind but they seem too soft at times. while FM works on the radio, AM does not work for some reason. There are some quirks with the door locks and the door handles from kids pulling on them etc. The rear door lock works fine and the window. At least one of the rear door handles cannot be opened from the inside. The end of the cruise control handle comes off and has to be taped back on with duct tape. Some of the tinting of the windows has been stratched but its generally presentable. The vehicle may have up to 500 more miles than listed once sold. It depends upon which vehicle is sold first. The vehicle can be picked up in South Lake Tahoe but the payment must be received in full before it leaves and it will not include a license plate. There is a possibility that I can drive it to the Bay area for you but payment would have to be received prior to the delivery, not after delivery. Sorry about that. We encourage you to inspect the vehicle before you purchase. We will be selling it online in an auction. Please do not call us unless you are serious about buying the vehicle.
