* * * * * CUSTOM 1995 HONDA MAGNA * * * * * Here's a CUSTOM 1995 HONDA MAGNA up for bid. 3 years ago I purchased a nice clean 1995 stock Honda Magna for a custom project. The Magna was clean, low mileage (I'm thinking 8,000 mi) and running great, as Magna's do. I had earlier purchased a custom chopper frame with a chrome wide-glide type front end and fat rear tire for a Yamaha 650 set up. But, after I bought a nice 650, I realized how under-powered it was. So, I proceeded to my next step using a '95 Honda Magna. I owned a couple of Magnas earlier and always was amazed at the power & reliability. This project started with $2,500 for the '95 Magna and then a custom 7 degree raked triple tree customized by custom bike builder to fit Honda frame and bearings. The rear was lowered 1.5" with custom shocks. The bars are custom "T" bars. The controls on the bars are "cruiser custom" chrome "Harley type". The rear sits on a Metzler 200/50 R 18 chrome spoke wheel custom mounted to the Honda frame with correct custom spacers. There's a disc brake that's installed but not yet connected. The front is a 21" chrome spoke wheel with Avon 90/90 H 21 rubber. As the ad states, this is a "custom" 1995 Honda Magna project. I started this project almost 3 years ago, but got laid off and the project has been on hold. So, all the time and money has been sitting in the garage waiting on completion. Here's what all I have done; I had a custom bike shop in NC custom machine a rear axle and spacers to allow the fat rear wheel to be professionally mounted. The rear wheel has a disc brake on it. But, the brake has NOT been connected. Magna's come with a drum brake. Foot controls and brake lines will have to been installed. Also, the new rear wheel has a larger chrome sprocket installed. I had planned on installing the largest front sprocket available along with a new chain to off-set the gearing change that the larger new rear sprocket would cause. The front end is a chrome, after-market "wide glide" type with a 21" front wheel installed. As you can see, there is NO front brake. I had a 7 degree raked triple tree custom altered to fit the wide glide front end and the Honda frame & bearings. The chrome front end is in really good shape. But, the area where the head-light is does have some scratches. I'll add picture tomorrow. The bars are custom "T" bars. The hand controls are new "Harley" type from Crusier custom. They have NOT been connected. The Honda wiring will have to be "matched" with the Harley control wiring. The gas tank was perfect, until I dented it in storage. The seat will need to be replaced or recovered. As you can see in the pictures, there is a steel after-market rear fender that I had started fitting for the Magna frame. So, all in all I invested a lot of time and money to build a nice, fun, fast custom Honda Magna pro-street project. I hate to see her go, but my loss is your gain. There are a couple of pictures from the original Magna and the chopper frame I "stole" the wheels and front end off of before I sold the frame. Tomorrow I'll try and add more pictures showing the bike close up. Please take a look and make me an offer I can't refuse. A lot of time and money was invested a couple of winter's ago. But, I was laid off and the Magna has been sitting in my garage. My next move will be to take it apart and sell it off part by part. What a shame, but if it doesn't sell . .
