Vehicle Detail

This is a 1986 Honda Magna V45 (VF700C). It belong to a friend of mine for several years. in fact I drove it home from the dealership when it was brand-new. For the next several years I would borrow the bike from time to time to get my motorcycle fix. Unfortunately my friend lost his license and the bike sat in a storage shed for 11 years. After years of bugging him to sell it to me I finally convinced him in 2006. He sold it to me for $1000 and I began to put another thousand dollars into the restoration. The bike comes with a helmet and the saddlebags as seen in the pictures. The wheels were re polished and sealed to protect their condition for some time.(many many hours of polishing) The tires were replaced with new. The slave cylinder was replaced. The master cylinder for the clutch is not the original, it is off of a Kawasaki. I added a small oil gauge in line, to verify that it always had pressure. Much of the aluminum was powder coated including the sissy bar, the radiator covers, the brake cover, and several other parts including some tin parts such as the headlight bucket. The mufflers were painted black urethane as was the gas tank the side covers and the rear fender. I replaced the spark plug wires and put new NGK plugs in. All of the turn signals were replaced with new units. The front fender was replaced with a used one. The right side cover was replaced with a similar model black version instead of the original equipment brushed aluminum version. I used stainless steel hex nuts on the cover. The seal for the clutch pushrod it was replaced. The lower chrome waterpipe was replaced. The headlight bulb was replaced. I purchased a full set of reconditioned carburetors at a cost of over $300. The gas tank was sent away to accompany to recondition the interior, and then I sprayed the outside with the black urethane. The factory radiator was disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. In general except for the 11 years of storage this bike has been spoiled. From day one he used Mobil one, and it has had synthetic Mobil one oil ever since. It has stayed in my air-conditioned garage since 2006 when I purchased it. there is a minor dent in the top of the gas tank along with a few scratches here and there. The tach or is not accurate, as I had to cobble together one from a similar model. The fork seals could use replacing, I have purchased them but I have not gotten to it yet. This was the year they got these motorcycles right. All of the oil problems of the earlier models were fixed in the 1986 model we began to align hone the valve train. This bike is meant a lot to me for many years and were it not for an injury that leaves me unable to ride for the next six months, (not bike related) I would keep it. This bike has never been laid down and only has 18,000 original miles. I am throwing in a leather jacket and a helmet. Please take a look at the pictures and call me with any questions.
