Vehicle Detail
Auctioning an excellent 2002 Pontiac Bonneville SE 4 door, its polo green with taupe velour interior. Car is excellent inside and out, and is 100% dependable. NOT perfect, has a few very minor cosmetic flaws on the front seat and on the trunk surface. Again, its NOT perfect, and I dont think you can find a GM car that is 8 years old, and is perfect. This car has the awesome 3.8 L v6 engine with AT, cold AC, warm heat, and full power package. I think the only 2002 available options that this car doesnt have would be the HUD/head-up display and sunroof. No sunroof as the Ebay pre-fill says, sorry. I dont know if the HUD was available on this car, but it doesnt have it. AM/FM stereo has CD and cassette deck, both working fine. Car has been pretty much garage kept and well maintained, the original battery lasted 6 1/2 years, and was replaced in 8/2008. Probably due to it being under the back seat, and therefore out of the summer humidity. Had 4 brand news tires, brakes with metallic pads and rotors at 76k miles. New serpentine belt at 80k, the original did not break, its still in the trunk, available for emergency duty. New wiper blades as well, not refills. Oil and filter were changed at 86k miles (2/2010), and it received platinum spark plugs in July, just over 87k miles. Brand new headliner this week, as well as the heater hose by pass kit, front and rear pieces. Car does NOT NEED paint or clearcoat, or body work. Entire clearcoat still shiney, no delamination or fading. The car only has 2 'issues' if you want to call them issues, and they are not drivability issues. The fuel gauge pegs on 'FULL' most of the time, it will sometimes read accurately. The oil pressure gauge pegs on high, or 120 psi. These 2 problems have already been diagnosed. To make the gas gauge work as it should all the time will require replacing the fuel pump. The sensor on the pump itself isnt making constant contact with the sensor rails as it should, due to the float pivot rod being time-worn. On this car, easy job because the trunk floor has the fuel pump access panel. Its 5 5/16" bolts, and I had the fuel pump out myself in 20 minutes. So NO having the arduous task of removing the gas tank on this car. Further, I ordered a brand new pump (NOT REBUILT), and it will be installed or included with this auction (take your pick, no big deal either way). Thus, I consider this problem 'handled', as it will be no additional expense to the successful buyer. The oil pressure sending unit needs to be replaced, it is $39.99 at AutoZone, and is located on the backside of the engine block. Replacing this part will make the oil pressure gauge read correctly all of the time. There is no oil pressure issue with the engine, as is easily proven with a 15-20 minute test drive. Feel free to bring your mechanic and check it all out. With all that said, there is no remaining warranty time with this car, and this sale is AS IS, WHERE IS, period. You are indeed welcome to come and inspect it, and drive it, BEFORE YOU BID ! Read that carefully. Do NOT BID unless you inspect the car first. If you are the winning bidder, and you did NOT come and drive and inspect, you will be expected to buy it, no exceptions. Do NOT pull the Ebay trick of being the high bidder, THEN wanting to come and tire kick and 'negotiate' Aint gonna happen, whomever wins is already getting a steal on this Bonneville, local Tampa/St Pete/ Clearwater comparable Bonnevilles on Craigslist and where ever, from dealers and private owners are in the high $3000s and up, and all of them that I saw have more miles, most above 100k miles. So, bottomline, shop and compare, and if you hit the reserve and win, you will be expected to follow through with the deal. If you have any questions just ask. It is for sale locally, so we reserve the right to end this auction at anytime. Oh yeah, also comes with the original window sticker and GM package, 2 keyless working remotes plus the Valet key. The original purchase price was $26,605.00 and this car was bought at Dick Norris in Palm Harbor. It has always been a Florida car. 1 last thing , the AutoChek/CarFax will show an 'issue found' under accidents. This was a front nose accident back in March 2006, which we were NOT at fault. There was no mechanical damage, and the car was driven home, and then to Dick Norris Pontiac to be repaired. The insurance company of the party at fault had to pay, and so there was an insurance claim, and as such it was reported as an accident. We have the receipt to prove this, the new front nose, plus Pontiac emblem, right headlight capsule (lense got cracked in the accident) and repaint was just over $1000. So thats why you will see the Auto Chek number 'below' the range, and I guess they consider that fair. So, no biggy there. Overall the car looks great, and the winner will be getting an excellent deal ! Email if you have any questions, and feel free to come and check it out in person. TYIA
