Vehicle Detail

I am listing this car for a friend who bought the car new and also did all the restoration on the car. This car was z car of the month in 04 dec. Z-car magazine. The cost of the restore was in the $25,000 range. The list below describes all that was done to the car. On ther ear passenger side of the car the clear needs some touch up and buffing. Other than that the car is very nice. I can email pics of the rear of the car if you are interested. The whole drivetrain has been rebuilt around 10,000 miles ago. Everything but the rearend. 1980 - 280 ZX Restoration The focus of the restoration of this ZX was to clean up the car, reduce the weight, and make it handle. I like the lines of a 280 ZX, but I think they had entirely too much foo-foo from the factory. I removed all trim, all badging, everything - even the side markers and the hood vents. I ripped out the cruise control, the auto test system, the console, the map lights etc. I have reduced the dry weight over 300#. I also have always thought 280ZX's to be a little porky and the suspension too soft. The Tokico & Eibach fixed the handling and with the weight reduction, makes this puppy handle great. I have: - removed clearance lights and filled in holes w/water jet cut 16 ga panels I drew on AutoCad drawings - removed thewater jet cut panels from AutoCad drawings I made - removed ALL remaining trim and badging - removed rear washer, wiper - removed center plastic console - removed "check" light system and all associated wiring - removed cruise control & buckets of wiring - removed rear window washer controls - removed dash speakers and assoc wiring - removed rear storage bins - removed stock "shock" bumper mounts I have added: - "Limo" tint on rear window panel & rear side windows - - 300 ZX power antenna - 240 Z external rear view mirrors - Brushed Aluminum LeCarra steering wheel w black leather - Blue hose trim kit under hood - K&N cold air induction (powder coated) - Cool flex Radiator hoses - powder coated headlight buckets - powder coated jack, etc - powder coated all misc metal under hood - powder coated interior tail light brackets - powder coated hood latches and lift rods - powder coated valve cover (blue) - powder coated "pan" under radiator - powder coated fuel tank fill tube - 130 mph speedo from 79' ZX - custom wood grain shifter knob - - 7 spoke 17" rims (Tenzo-R, AV-7) - 215/45/17 TOYO Proxes TS-1 tires - Tokico Shocks - Eibach suspension I have also: - replaced the dash from another car - replaced ALL interior plastic, etc. - replaced dash[panel inserts with panels watercut from stainless steel - "water jet" cut stainless interior trim parts from AutoCad dwgs - water jet cut stainless steel panel to hold the CD player. Panel was made from AutoCad drawings - water jet cut 3/16" stainless shifter boot plate from AutoCad dwg - fabricated and powder coated new aluminum bumper mounts - applied POR 15 on underside & behind bumpers - spent hundreds of hours block sanding body to near perfection - base coat-clear coat Artic white (no tint) paint job - hand painted blue trim - fades from light blue to dark blue - hand painted custom pin stripping - replaced EVERY bolt I could with NEW stainless steel ones - replaced gas tank etc, new rubber hoses - moved exhaust exit from RH side to LH side I have installed: - new carpet, seat covers, headliner, door panels - new exhaust system - new front fenders - new hood - new rear taillights, park lights - new air dam, etc - new rear body panel - new disc brakes, calipers, etc - new door strike plates - new door and window rubber - new flywheel, starter, bearings, etc. - new windshield wiper frames, motor, trim, etc - new interior plastic panels - as many as I could still buy - new door hinges & handles - new interior window lift trim - new interior pull handle buckets - new licensee plate light trim piece - new moustache brg & other rear end parts - new fiberglass LH headlight bucket - new rear side window glass - both sides - new front wheel well splash pans
