I had been looking for one to restore and get a small hobby going with my father, this car reminded him of his 71 Z so we had to buy it. The car sat at a gentleman's house up the road from us where it had not been ran in years, the guy owned it since high school. We bought it from him and towed it home. My father was the brains in the mechanical realm and got it fired up and running within an hour of us getting it home. Long story short he passed away in June of 2008 and the project stopped. I don't know where to begin and have to much on my plate to get this Z back into the prime condition it should be in so I will pass it on to the next person. Clean and clear title in my name. 1971, 4 speed, Red exterior original paint, Black interior. original l24 with stock carb etc. unsure on mileage the original owner rolled the odometer to all zeros because he wanted to swap or rebuild the motor and wanted it fresh. has AC but not sure if it is hooked up properly. seats are worn out. No radio, Dash is cracked, and the vents are not working properly, Has the typical rust in the dog leg in front of the rear tires. Battery area is rusty but has not gone thru, under the rear hatch sill there is rust as well. Floor pans are decent with a small hole near the drain plug on the drivers floor. there is also a dent on the drivers rear near the taillight. I was going to purchase a rear sill off a donor car and weld it in, and buy patch panels for the dog legs. I'm no welder this is where my father would have come in. The transmission seems to grind or have trouble getting into 3rd, most of the parts missing in the photo such as rear taillight housing was removed to show the rust issue but will be included in the sale.
