Vehicle Detail

I have a 1971 Buick Skylark that i have actually never had the pleasure of driving. I bought it while serving over in Iraq in 08, and my dad drove it to his place to wait for me to come home from where i was stationed in Okinawa. It ran when we parked it, and when i got back from Okinawa, i had school in Texas for 6 months and thought i would end up in Virginia and could pick up the car. Im now stationed in California, and it is not worth it to me to get it towed from Tennessee to me. The good is that it ran when i parked it, and that it looks pretty good. I think it would be real easy to get it running again, but i think it should be towed from my fathers house in Nashville. It is a 455 Oldsmobile engine in it, and my plan was to try and find a 4-4-2 and put that in it, and put a buick 350 back in my skylark. It was originally an A/C Car, and it is missing the dash, but i bought a used one, and it has the AC vents in it if you decide to hook an AC up to it. The oldsmobile engine does not have AC. So the bad, it is not really that bad, but it is worth mentioning. It was last registered in Alabama till April 09 and I dont have a title for it. I have done a search on it, and Alabama still has record of it as listed to the man i bought it from. I have a bill of sale, and his registration, and with it still in the system, i dont think it would be any problem to have it transferred over, and get a new title. Alabama law says that cars made before 1974 will sell with a bill of sale only, so it is normal procedure. I have also lost the keys, but my father is getting the ignition drilled, and new keys made this week, so that wil be like new if it sells. There is some surface rust in the engine compartment, and the interior is not the greatest, the floor of the trunk has been patched with some fiberglass, and it is missing the trunk lock, but overall i think a pretty easy project for a fun vehicle. I dont think it will be a show winner or anything, but it should be fun to play with. Like I said, it ran at the end of 08 when we parked it, and actually my dad had to drive it about 50 miles just to get it home, so it was street worthy at the time, he just has not been running it since it has been at his house. My dad is retired, so im sure he woud be happy to show it to all who came by.
