Vehicle Detail

Time to part with my 1984 Honda CR500R. Final year of the air-cooled big-bore 2-stroke single. For being an unrestored 26 year-old MX'r, this bike is in really good shape. Starts with no hassle, smokes a little, does not leak, shifts smoothly and generally is an all-around good runner. Tires/wheels in good shape, no missing spokes or flat spots. Recent front brake pad replacement. Wheel bearings and swingarm bushings exhibit no looseness. Original expansion chamber has a small dent on right side as it exits the shroud. Air shrouds are aftermarket, but fit perfectly. Will need replacement control levers, but the existing ones work. Front forks have newer seals (2 seasons), rear shock is original but still performs ok. Chain and sprockets have 2 seasons use, and are in good condition. Seat has minor tears, and plastic has normal scuffs and scratches. This bike spent it's life in a dry climate (southern Idaho) and has no rust issues. I have not had the head off the cylinder, therefore I do not know if the piston is std or oversize. The crank is nice and tight, no unusual mechanical noise. No bent or broken fins. This motorcycle is powerful and fast. Ask all questions prior to bidding. Shipping is expensive, so please do your homework before placing a bid. I am happy to assist with shipping coordination. Motorcycle has clear Idaho Title in seller's name. On Nov-30-10 at 17:10:13 PST, seller added the following information: This is a 7-day auction with no reserve and no Buy-It-Now option. I intend to let this one run its course and not end it early. Sorry, but that's what the auction format is all about. To the buyer I will provide the original Title (issued by the State of Idaho, USA), specifying myself (the seller) as the legal owner of the vehicle, as well as a Bill of Sale. If the bike is going to be shipped outside of the USA, the shipper, having these documents, will be able to facilitate international Customs requirements on behalf of the buyer. The listed dry weight of the CR500R is approx. 225 lbs. If it is crated, it will weigh more. For shipping estimates, you should plan on a shipping weight of 300 lbs., with a crate size of 2 ft. width x 6 ft. length x 4.5 ft. height. These numbers are approximate but should real close to the final measurements. Please do your own research as there are many shippers with on-line shipping quote calculators. On Dec-01-10 at 08:08:51 PST, seller added the following information: If your shipper requires that this motorcycle be crated, I can accomplish this task at no charge other than the cost of materials, which would amount to $75 or less, depending on how generous my local KTM dealer is feeling. I have used KTM crates in the past with good results. It would consist of a cycle-sized pallet with the bike secured to it (front wheel and handlebars removed and strapped to bike), with a wood-reinforced heavy-duty cardboard sides/top system covering the bike and affixed to the pallet. Pallet is forklift compatible.
