You don't have to be a hot rodder to appreciate the beauty and style of the Plymouth/Chrysler Prowlers. Men and women, young and old, are drawn to this amazing modern street rod! I picked my 15 year old daughter up in it at her High School and while I was in line with all the Soccer moms I was bombarded with all the kids walking buy commenting on how cool the car was....In other words, leave a little extra time when running errands in this one because it gets looks and comments left and right! This particular Silver 2001 Prowler was spoiled by its 2 previous owners and has never been driven in the rain! Originally bought in Louisiana this Prowler had its own special garage and was only hand washed less then a dozen times in its life. When the second owner from Tennessee bought it in 2005 the original owners practically shed tears as it was trailered away to its new home. At that point it had 14,500 miles and in the next 5 years less then 5000 miles were added to the odometer by another car enthusiast who restored a variety of cars as a hobby and just loved this Prowler to death. New projects demanded space so he decided it was time for the next lucky owner to enjoy this piece of automotive art. So, here it is!!! Opportunity knocks and it's your turn to answer the door. This car is truly in amazing condition and I will do my best to give you an accurate and honest description as well as include enough pictures that will hopefully demonstrate this cars near flawless condition. Sit back and enjoy!! As you will see in the pictures the body on this Prowler is in near flawless condition and has never had any paint/bodywork or had any type of accident. It also still has its original front and rear bumpers which some Prowler owners have chosen to remove for a different look. This car DOES have one really nice custom touch though. A custom OEM rear fascia was added along with a chrome transmission cooler cover. If you compare this look to Prowlers without it I think you will agree that it really gives it a more refined, finished look from the rear. The independent front fenders are a unique design element but quite often small rocks kick back from the front tires. This car had factory Mud Flaps added which prevented this and therefore you will not find the little nicks or rock chips in the paint that others may have. The only flaw I could find along the body was some very minor scuffs under the front nose that you cannot see unless you get down and really look. This is also very common with Prowlers but does not take away from the overall fantastic condition of this one. Another nice touch are the tinted side and rear windows which help give this Silver beauty a stealth look when the top is up. The top itself is in beautiful condition with no wear. Moving on to the plush black leather interior you will again find it to be in fantastic condition with almost no wear to the leather seating. The bucket seats are very comfortable in these cars if you decide to go on a long cruise. The clean gauge layout of the dash is accented with a steering mounted tach. Great sound from the 7 speaker AMFM/Cassette with 6 cd changer mounted behind the passenger seat. Ice cold A/c at your fingertips if needed. Again, this is basically a modern hot rod so all of the comfort features of a modern car are tucked inside this baby including of course airbags. The Prowler has a 3.5 Litre High-Output SOHC 24 valve Aluminum V-6. Is it the fastest car on the road?? No, but do not be fooled. With 253 hp at 6400 rpm and 255 pound-feet of torque at 3950 rpm it will get most peoples attention. It has an aluminum block with a forged steel crank bedded in the four main bearings. Heads and pistons are aluminum. It's been dressed up and heated up slightly with a less restrictive air cleaner, cast stainless steel exhaust manifolds, and EFI linear cam throttle body for a quick, crisp, response! While all Prowlers were automatics, if you want a little added fun put it in AutoStick mode and shift up and down as you desire. Power rack and pinion steering and 4 wheel vented disc brakes make driving this baby easy and fun. Independent front and rear suspension with stabilizer bars and front/rear coil over shocks make handling a dream. Lets not forget the awesome stance that is achieved with the 20" rear wheels and 17" fronts. This Prowler has the Chrome wheels that are in like new condition and are wrapped in Goodyear Run flat tires to hug the road. This Prowler has under 19,400 miles on it so it has really just been broken in. It has always been adult owned and never raced or abused. It runs as good as it looks!! Bottom line is that this particular Prowler is in amazing condition and is truly one of the few American automobiles of its time that can be considered a collectible. Perhaps even better is that it can definitely be driven and enjoyed while it maintains its investment potential. I have owned a wide variety of muscle cars and specialty vehicles and I usually find that true Car enthusiasts own Prowlers. It is definitely a vehicle that has left its mark and if you have never owned one, this is your chance!!
