The Village of Sherburne Fire Department is accepting bids on a 1989 Ford F-150 pickup truck complete with plow and Reading brand utility box. The truck is an automatic with four wheel drive. The vehicle will NOT currently pass a New York State inspection due to the brake master cylinder leaking into the brake booster and possibly other unknown problems. The truck has been in service until the recent brake malfunction which caused it to be deemed surplus and removed from active duty. The pickup starts and runs well, the four wheel drive appears to work fine, the plow raises and lowers, the vehicle would make a great plow vehicle on a farm or private property, the vehicle will probably require extensive work to become road worthy. There is also significant rust damage to the driver's side rocker panel and shown in the pictures. Also, some bidders have asked about paying with cash. Cash is an acceptable payment especially if you want to pay for and pick up the truck at the same time.
