1979 Mercedes Benz 450sl You are bidding on a really nice low 50,000 original mile super fun 1979 Mercedes 450SL. This 79 SL is one of the most recognizable luxury convertibles by one of the most respected car companies in the world. Nothing says style and class like a Mercedes Benz. Manufactured for almost two full decades, between 1971 and 1989, Mercedes' highly regarded type R107 SL Roadster has made history in a big way. Being an advanced design, it still looks contemporary today and holds the place of honor as the most successful open-air motorcar ever built by Mercedes Benz. This 450SL in this auction was well maintained and well cared for. She has always been garaged, never driven in snow and is fantastic shape. Miles stated on the title as ACTUAL and by the condition of the car, you could see this is correct. The body is in very nice shape. There is no rust or rot. The original body panels are straight. The original white paint is still in nice condition. The chrome trim is in nice shape. The rubber bumper ends and fillers are in nice shape. The rubber weather stripping is still in good shape and the car does not leak. The hard top is in nice condition. The black cloth soft top was recently replaced and looks new. The red interior is in nice original condition. The carpets are very clean. The door panels are near perfect. The seats are in nice shape. The dash is not cracked. The original Becker Mexico AM/FM/Cassette stereo still works. She has some nice options like power windows, power assisted locks, remote mirrors, 3-speed wipers, cruise control, and climate control with working A/C. The 4.5L V8 runs nice. The automatic transmission shifts very smooth. The suspension rides wonderful. The power steering is effortless. The power brakes stop fine. She rides on new Michelin 205/70/24 tires on the factory original wheels that are in excellent shape. This Benz had $4,295.26 worth of work done in September 2008 at Euro Motors of Garwood, NJ.
