1975 Suzuki t500

Classic Suzuki T500 Titan two stroke twin in excellent condition. I have enjoyed riding the back roads with this beauty for a couple years now but sadly it's time to thin the herd. The bike won a trophy at the annual two stroke extravaganza show a few years back. It starts and runs great and has had a fresh set of 1st over pistons installed recently. No seizure just wanted to keep the tolerances in spec. The bike is no longer in top show condition but as a weekend rider it turns heads wherever it goes. There are some small scratches on the right side engine cover that would easily sand and polish out.There is also some acid marks on the right muffler. There is also a very tiny dent on the bottom of the oil tank, hardly noticeable. So much for the bad, Now for the good. The bike starts easily and runs all day like a champ! I really enjoy it's easy handling and the smooth power Suzuki gave these motors.It's deceptively quick and torquey. Having drum brakes at both ends means it's not the best stopper but if you like you could put a later year GT500 front end on and have a disc brake. Personally I like the old school look. It even has the rare mini luggage rack.Ive also been told that you can send your wheel and brake to an outfit called Vintage Brake and they will cut and match the drums and shoes perfectly and it makes a world of difference. I really hate to let this one go. It's my favorite color T500, Maui Blue with gold pinstriping . The engine is original and is the later version which holds more oil and thus the trans doesn't starve for oil in 5th gear. The front tire is almost new but you will need a rear as I wore it out having fun! The motor runs strong for a bike this age as the mileage is very low (7375). Suzuki also has a superior oiling system which not only feeds the top end but crank bearings as well. Parts are readily available from Paul Miller Suzuki or turn it into a vintage racer like Sundial motorsports does.Seller reserves the right to end auction early as bike is also for sale locally.
