Vehicle Detail
This is the preeminent BMW sport touring package. Precise handling and performance along with ample weight, cargo, and amenities for those long hauls. Factory lowered seat BMW option, plus BMW-certified dealer-installed pedal extensions, peg lowering kit, bar backs, kick stop extension, and highway pegs (added to make this bike fit a medium-sized woman or man perfectly). Widely viewed as one of the finest BMW models ever. Also fitted with the BWW Garmin Zumo GPS electronics package. Factory features include heated grips, cruise control, electric up/down windscreen, etc. All upgrades are reversable to original factory configuration (by buyer). This bike is practically new, still with a temporary NH cardboard license plate. My wife (owner, recently deceased - cancer) enjoyed a rather circuitous route when bringing her new bike home from the dealer (via Key West, up the spine of the Appallation Mountains, and through the central NY Finger Lakes). She was thrilled with the bike, and it has had only one rider (so far). Generous cargo space, the weatherproof saddle bags and trunk compartment demount with the ignition key to second as luggage bags. Fabric cover. The bike was dropped once in the driveway causing the scuff to the left saddlebag and left hand grip as seen in the close up images. I did not bother trying to rub these out or otherwise affict repairs as I personally do not find the blemishes obvious, and if the buyer does find them objectionable replacement parts are readily available through any BMW dealership (buyer cost). Otherwise there are no other blemishes, and aside from normal exhaust header coloration, overall the bike is very sharp with a "like new" showcase appearance throughout. Tires look good - I would personally go into another riding season with them (honest 50%+ service life remaining, and no scuffs). 6000 mile BMW maintenance has not been performed, aside from specified oil/filter & lube. 3 yr./36,000 mile factory warranty on bike.On Nov-25-10 at 09:22:44 PST, seller added the following information: This is the preeminent BMW sport touring package. Generous cargo space, the weatherproof saddle bags and trunk compartment demount with the ignition key to second as luggage bags. Fabric cover. The bike was dropped once in the driveway causing the scuff to the left saddlebag and left mirror rubber trim as seen in the close up images. Note that this morning I warmed up the bike (1st time in 6 weeks) and the "Brake Failure" instrument panel warning light was flashing (I have no idea why - it did not do this the last time the bike was started). 11/25/10 - added closeup detailed images of the damage to the left saddlebag cover and left rubber mirror trim - illuminated using a 2 million candlepower spotlight (makes the scratches and dust particles glow brightly). Note that I have not tried to polish the scratches. On Nov-25-10 at 11:06:46 PST, seller added the following information: New comments: "BC" switch (on-board computer) is located alongside the right handgrip. 600 mile oil change was performed at 600 miles. Left handgrip is not damaged - it is the left mirror rubber trim that has creases - the 2 blemishes are intentionally illuminated with a 2 million candlepower spotlight (blems are normally not that obvious - the bright light exergerates the scratches greatly - see new images). No attempt has been made to improve the condition. When I warmed up the bike this morning (1st time in 6 weeks) the "Brake Failure" indicator lamp was flashing (no idea why, the warning light was not flashing the last time I started it). Buyer will need to deal with this.
