This method of selling does allow for a possible lose on an individual vehicle, but a quick turn around time and extremely low overhead allows for a small profit in the end.

Buying at a retail lot...
A retail-auto dealer usually provides pre-certified used vehicles that pass a 200-point inspection and are guaranteed to be 100% like new. Purchasing from a fancy retail lot in your area will give you that "peace of mind" feeling. For this guarantee and peace of mind you will be paying retail prices which are usually 30%-50% above wholesale. If you are very selective and don't mind spending the extra cash retail is the way for you. (Many of these dealers don't do a complete inspection and only guarantee the drive-train, while still charging retail).
