Vehicle Detail
I thought I sold this car on 10/29 but after nearly 3 weeks trying to work with the buyer for payment.... I am forced to cancel that transaction and re-list. I have also lowered the reserve from $4900 to $4500. I am also advertising locally so may cancel this listing at anytime if a local buyer appears with the buy now price. This is an early 1969 convertible with the center crank convertible top. It has the small tail lights and cone shaped signals in the front. The car is in NY about 60 miles north of NYC for you north east folks that want to save on shipping. The good: This was a Florida car up until 2 years or so ago when I bought it. The car has been garage kept and only driven on nice days. This is in part due to the fact that it needs a new top. I have the new black top and it is included in the sale but will need to be installed by the new owner. The current installed convertible top is not use able although the frame and the headliner appear to be mechanically fine. The car has a new wiring harness, interior seat covers and carpets, door panels, speedometer cable, gas gauge sending unit, and shocks - all of which are already installed. I have a replacement hood and new chrome door sills that are also part of the sale but also not installed. The car runs and shifts fine. The underbody was heavily rust coat protected long before I got it. I don't think the floors are original as this car looks like it was fully restored at some point in its life. The floors are not perfect but my opinion is they are solid enough and still have some years left in them. In NY state a vehicle this old has a transferable registration document which is used to transfer the ownership of the car. The car is currently registered so this is the current registration paperwork is what I will use to transfer ownership once you purchase the car. Needs work - this is a 41 year old car: Being a Florida car, the heat has been completely disabled. Again, was not an issue for me as I only drove it in nice weather Dashboard instrument lights are not connected. The speedo, odometer, and the gas gauge work - the clock doesn't. I think it needs front brakes pads as there is now an occasional squeak from up front when braking (the new replacement pads are included in the sale) You can see the rust spots and bubbles along the bottom rockers and a slight dent on the right rear hip fender in the pictures. The paint is very nice quality but would need some body work finishing and paint touch up if you wanted to make this a show type of car. Radio doesn't work and I never bothered to fix it as I liked to hear the engine sound. This vehicle is represented to the best of my abilities. I have been honest about the condition of the vehicle in it’s current state. There is no expressed or implied guarantee with this vehicle. The car is being sold as is. No warranty is implied. The buyer is responsible for any shipping expense. If you bid and win please understand that a I would require a $500 non-refundable deposit within 3 days of the auction close and the balance would be due prior to me handing over the car directly to you or a shipping company. I can accept Paypal or a certified check as payment.
