1981 Mercedes-Benz 380SL Roadster ***NO RESERVE AUCTION*** Up For Sale Is My Very Nice, Low Mileage, CarFax Inspected 1981 Mercedes-Benz 380SL Roadster. Just Out Of 10 Year Inside Storage. Car Is VERY Clean, Floor Boards Are Solid, Two Minor Surface Rust Spots(Can Be Seen In Pictures), No Rocker Damage, Jack Stands GREAT! All Glass Including Hard Top Glass Are Perfect. Dash Is Perfect With The Exception Of A Small 1in Crack By Defroster Towards Windshield. Interior and Door Panels Have No Rips Or Tears. The Leather Seats Are Somewhat Dry, I Used a Very Fine Leather Softener That Softend Them Up, May Need Additional Treatment. Inside Headliner on Hard Top Perfect, No Rips No Tears. All Locking Assemblies Work. Factory Bars Are Provided For These Locks. Chrome Bumpers Extremely Nice, No Pits. All Rubber Ends Very Clean. Trunk Is Clean, New Battery Installed, And I Mean The Right Battery For This Car. No Rust on Truck, Battery Box Is Fine. All Locks and Keys Work, Electric Windows Work, Original Becker Radio, Electric Antenna Goes Up And Down. Wipers, Horn, Blower Motor, Turn Signals All Work As They Should. No Dings or Dents. Paint Is Somewhat Faded on Passenger Side, But Still Shines Great! 3 Michelin Tires, Look Original, One Was Soo Dry Rotted, I Put a Dunlop On It. Wheels Are Very In Very Good Condition, No Curving, Shine Very Nice. Exhaust System Sounds Great. Soft Top. Not Very Good, Looks Like Someone Tried To Fix It Themselves At One Time, Should Be Replaced. Drivetrain Excellent! Car Starts On One Click Of The Key. Transmission Shifts Fine, All Gauges Work, With The Exception Of The Economy Gauge. No Warning Lights On While Running. Cruise Control, Power Steering, Power Brakes. I Have Tried To Cover Everything I Can Think Of. If You Have Any Questions Feel Free To Ask. This is Truly A Very Nice Looking And Running Car, As It Should Be With Only 46k Miles On It. The Car Was Towed Home On A Flatbed, And Never Attempted To Start Until We Changed All Fluids, Which Included A New Fuel Pump And Filter. Once Installed, This Car Jumped To Life On The First Turn Of The Key, And Has Run Great Ever Since, I've Put Approximately 6,000miles on The Car, Short Runs & 200 Mile Trip To Columbus And Back. I Can Honestly Say With The Exception Of Its Age, This Car Can Run And Drive Anywhere. Now To The Title- When I Purchased The Car, The Previous Owners Just Brought It Out Of Storage, I Ran a Carfax On It On (07/13/2009)I Do Have Copies To Send If Interested. Carfax Reports NO Problems Or Damages To Vehicle. It Gives 5 Detailed Records, And 37,000 Mile Odometer Reading Which Was 09/07/1999, At That Time It Passed Emissions. Yet The Title Shows This "Re-Built Salvage NMVTIS11RPTD-SLVG. From What Car-Fax Shows There Was Nothing Reported After 1990, As That Is As Far As CarFax Goes Back. CarFax Reports No Problems With Vehicle. I Personally Called DMV In Ohio To See What I Could Find Out, And I Made A Trip To Columbus, The Only Answer I Could Get Was, It Was a Violation Of The Privacy Act.
