Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is an interesting project car. This is a 1929 Ford Model A Rumble Seat Sport Coupe that is nearly complete and nearly completely disassembled! The car is owned by the AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America) Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania, a non-profit Museum dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of transportation history. The car was donated to the Museum several weeks ago with the understanding that we would sell it immediately. It was purchased several decades ago by the donor and was his first car. He did drive and use the car before taking it apart for a planned restoration, but that was about 25 years ago. We removed it from a single bay garage box by box and took it to the Museum where it was photographed for this listing. This project Model A is offered to the highest bidder with a low opening bid and no reserve. All proceeds benefit the Museum. The car is not for sale outside of eBay and the auction will not be ended early. We were told that everything for the car is present (or at least was present at the time it was taken apart). Since the car is nearly 100 percent apart, it is difficult to verify what might be missing. All of the major components seem to be present. There are two cylinder heads as well as three extra wheels with mounting hardware (rear and two side mount spares). Most parts are readily available for this car from a variety of sources. It will make a nice project and a wonderful car once completed. We have included 24 photographs with the listing, but every part may not be represented in an image. If you want to know about anything specific, please let us know. We will gladly go through the boxes and piles to get your answer or snap an additional photo! The car is accurately represented in the photographs, but interested parties are encouraged to ask questions and/or schedule a personal inspection. This vehicle is offered as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. It has a valid Pennsylvania title which will be transferred to the new owner upon successful completion of the transaction. We sent the title through for processing about 10 days ago so it may or may not be back to us by the conclusion of this auction. If the title is not back, the auction winner will get a copy of the temporary “pink slip” in the interim with the signed over PA title to follow. Shipping and transportation of the Ford will be the responsibility of the new owner. We will gladly work with you or the shipper/transporter of your choice to coordinate the move. The new owner will have two weeks from the completion of the auction to pick up the vehicle unless other arrangements are made in advance. The car is located at the AACA Museum, 161 Museum Drive, Hershey, PA 17033. Payment may be in the form of cash, money order, cashier’s check or PayPal (with all fees paid by the purchaser). Thank you for your interest in our Ford Model A Project and this auction. Interested parties are encouraged to email or call with questions, to request additional photographs or schedule a personal inspection. You may contact us through the “ask the seller a question” link on this page or by calling Jeffrey Bliemeister, Museum Curator, at 717-566-7100 ext. 104. All proceeds from this sale benefit the AACA Museum, a 501 (C) 3 non-profit educational institution.
