Vehicle Detail
For sale, a 1984 Volkswagen Rabbit Cabriolet Wolfsburg Edition. 135,800 miles. This is the white variation withcolor matched wheels. It looks great and it's a fun car to drive. I bought for my wife to have something fun to drive and to practice using a manual transmission. However, plans change and we are now moving to Coloradoand this car can't go with us. It isn't a perfect car, but with a little work it could be a great classic car to drive around infor many miles to come. Good:Body in great condition, only very minor spots of discoloration behind front bumper.Paint is excellent for a car of this age.Comes with brand new carpet set. Seats are recovered in black, small tear on driver's seat. Top is in excellent condition, it is newer. Brand new exhaust from the catatlytic converter back. Several new gaskets on the engine. Pioneer speakers and radio installed.Original VDO gauges including three at the bottom of the center console forvoltage, oil pressure, and temperature. Not so Good:Several oil seals need replaced. One section of coolant hose will need replaced soon. Second and fourth gear work fine, but can be finicky about going into gear sometimes.*A little bit of noise from the front axles, probably the cv joints getting engine oil leaked onto them.Fan motor for the heating and cooling doesn't work.Oxygen sensor light is on. *Basically the car needs several oil seals replaced and that will help everything run better and more consistently.(ie the transmission, I think the final drive seals are slowly leaking oil and so then the transmission runs with slightly low oil. Fix the seals and I think it will run a lot better all the time.) It is not a show car, but I drove it to work 15-20 miles one way several days a week and never had any trouble with it. Please email if you would like more pictures or have any questions. It is also for sale locally, so if you are in the area let me knowif you want to see it. Test Drives Video 1 Video 2
