Auction is for a 1963 Buick Electra convertible parts car with title. I purchased this in an auction and found it to be beyond restoration. It is equipped with a rare POSI TRACTION rear axle for a Buick big car this is VERY RARE. The car has some usable trim parts, it has the complete 401 Buick Nailhead drivetrain including Dynaflow, Ujointed driveshaft and rear posi. Has aluminum front drums that are not frozen and probably OK (no cracks) Good front and rear bumper including bumper ends. Decent grille, one headlamp chrome surround, one good front fender with some lower rust out but straight and useable. Still has complete convertible top irons which would fit all 61-64 big GM cars like the Cadillacs, Olds 98. Interior is largely trashed and missing. Has trunk lid in car, trunk pan is decent as someone drilled relif holes years ago. Frame is OK, Please note that this car showed up on rims only (no tires) The tires and rims on the car DO NOT GO WITH THE CAR. These were mounted so that the car can roll. You can bring your own or we can load the car onto your trailer then remove my wheels. If you are using a transperter then he/she needs to know the wheels are not going with the car. I have the rusted rims the car showed up with if you want me to mount them I will but they had no tires. This car has a clear transferable title from South Dakota. Thanks - Bryan On Nov-08-10 at 17:03:13 PST, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE THAT I HAVE RECEIVED A $350 OFFER FOR THE POSI ALONE, Plus the car has the valuable front aluminum drums in near perfect condition which usually go for $200. The grille, headlamp surround, bumpers, and drivetrain are worth quite a bit. I was asked if the motor was "locked up" and or frozen. I do not know. It is basically untouched for 25 years according to the last licensing and was likely removed from the road for other reasons. Nailheads, especially 401's are long-lived motors that rarely blow up. It has oil in the crankcase. The engine compartment is complete except for the air cleaner. I am in North Carolina on business and am unable to take and add an engine photo but it's not too exciting. The engine compartment is amazingly complete and untouched save the air cleaner. Belts/hoses accessories are all present. Lots of value n the parts in my opinion but the car itself is probably beyond restoration without a lot of cost. I priced a convertible frame 2 years ago for a 63 Cadillac and I was quoted $300 and $175 from 2 different sellers. Brake drums, posi, engine, transmission, chrome (bumper cores/grille/etc) all add up to a lot of $$$ if purchased seperately.
