VW Caddy pick up truck on Rabbit frame. Body damage to rear of cab and some dents on bed. Almost no rust. Unpainted mostly (poorly primer-ed). Was inspected in '04. Odometer works now as it was an inspection item but did not work when I purchased the vehicle. Ebay made me put something down for the milage so I put 200k because i know it must be below that. The glow plugs might be on all the time and then burn out. I replaced them but I think they went bad again. I would just run a new switch to control the glow plugs but never got the chance. INSPECTION not required (at least in MD) as it is a historic vehicle. Emissions not required here either since it is a diesel. Not in awesome shape but does run. I was not able to get it started today - but it did run when I parked it but it has sat for this summer and the previous winter. I left it on a slow charge and will work on it tomorrow. Once it is running and warmed up I have never had a problem. This is AS IS, and I have had an opening bid but anyone else is warned that it is difficult/trouble to start (esp in the cold). I still feel it is a worthwhile vehicle. There is also a cap that I did not mention previously. Pic now available. Has a lock, windows in the side that open with screen, and lights that can be wired back in. On Oct-31-10 at 08:09:51 PDT, seller added the following information: Milage is less than 110,000 on the odometer and I don't think the odometer was broken for long. The battery was still not charged enough to start the car but using another battery or jumper cables, the engine will turn over but the starter only engages part of the time (bendix). It didn't stay started but I think it isn't getting fuel. Possibly low/empty in the tank or maybe a gummed up line.
