Vehicle Detail
This beautiful 1936 Ford Model 68 Deluxe Convertible Sedan is owned by the AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America) Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania, a non-profit Museum dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of transportation history. The car was donated to the Museum three years ago. It has spent much of that time on exhibition inside the Museum. It was also used occasionally for special events. It was exhibited earlier this month at the AACA’s Fall Eastern Divisional Meet held in Hershey. The car was driven to the show field from the Museum. This car was fully restored by its last private owner and remains in excellent condition. It needs nothing and could be shown competitively after being given a thorough detailing. It is offered to the highest bidder with a low opening bid and reasonable reserve. All proceeds benefit the Museum. The car is not for sale outside of eBay and the auction will not be ended early. The convertible sedan is one of the lowest production models in Ford’s 1936 lineup. This one is black with a tan cloth interior. The Ford flat-head V8 engine is rebuilt and runs very well. The car has had its manual brakes updated/converted to a hydraulic system. The conversion was done in a tasteful and workmanlike manner. Other features or options include a radio in dash, clock (mounted in the glove box door), front driving lights, locking gas cap, two taillights, banjo steering wheel, single windshield wiper, outside mirror and wide white wall tires. The exterior, interior and chassis are all in excellent condition. The only "defect" we know of are flatspots on the tires, which revealed themselves during the drive to the Hershey showfield earlier this month. The car is accurately represented in the photographs, but interested parties are encouraged to ask questions and/or schedule a personal inspection. This vehicle is offered as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. It has a valid Pennsylvania title which will be transferred to the new owner upon successful completion of the transaction. Shipping and transportation of the Ford will be the responsibility of the new owner. We will gladly work with you or the shipper/transporter of your choice to coordinate the move. The new owner will have two weeks from the completion of the auction to pick up the vehicle unless other arrangements are made in advance. The car is located at the AACA Museum, 161 Museum Drive, Hershey, PA 17033. Payment may be in the form of cash, money order, cashier’s check or PayPal (with all fees paid by the purchaser).Thank you for your interest in our Ford Convertible Sedan and this auction. Interested parties are encouraged to email or call with questions, to request additional photographs or schedule a personal inspection. You may contact us through the "ask the seller a question" link on this page or by calling Jeffrey Bliemeister, Museum Curator, at 717-566-7100 ext. 104.
